For me, Elisa was just like all the others. What was the difference between her, Giorgia, Irene Grandi, or Carmen Consoli? None. They were all ordinary singers, talented, yes, but for me, they formed a homogeneous group, almost without value. One of these "many" managed to change the idea I had of her. Summer 2005. The first time I listened to Una poesia anche per te I was stunned. I felt something different from the ordinary in the song. Piano, strings, and drums. All concentrated in a single melody, sweet, fresh, melodic. That song lasted a little over 5 minutes. It had a very long text, which had the same meaning and gave the same chills whether read from the end to the start or from the start to the end. It didn't contain the words heart or love, yet it spoke of them. Without naming them. You could feel that it was entirely Elisa’s creation, both the lyrics and the melodies: you could feel that everything she had written was absolutely true, real, beautiful. But the thing that struck me the most was not the chorus, nor the verses, nor even the lyrics: it was those 15 seconds of poetry, those 15 seconds of ecstasy from minute 3:38 to minute 3:52. 15 seconds of voice, of skill, of interpretative ability, and of sonic beauty. From that day I loved Elisa. Today I still consider this song one of the most beautiful in the Italian music scene, a rare gem, a miracle. Even today, fortunately, we have artists of this caliber in our country. Elisa had written a song that would become a part of my life, never to leave it, an intimate and sincere song. Thank you for writing it.
