It's been a few years now since Elisa started delighting us with her pop-rock gems. The radios played Sleeping In Your Hand and Labyrinth extensively... Of course, after five albums, we can say that Elisa was quite different back then. She was younger, put more grit into her voice, and produced more accessible music. But we can't deny that even that enchanting pop-rock hinted at how bright the future would be for the singer from Monfalcone...
For those who intend to revisit it, the album opens precisely with Labyrinth, a very well-known single full of atmosphere, and throughout the 12 tracks, it gives us some pop mini-masterpieces: particularly noteworthy are Shadow Zone and A Feast For Me. And, of course, Sleeping In Your Hand. Some of the songs' music may seem a bit clichéd at first listen, but they gradually become effortlessly enjoyable: So Delicate So Pure, New Kiss, Inside a Flower. Needless to say, the lyrics are stunning from this debut... In short, in its unfinished beauty, Pipes & Flowers is an album that needs to be heard. Eight.
It’s my first album that I’ve bought where I love every second, and every song contains a particular emotion.
'Cure Me', incredible, the most rock, and the best part of the album along with 'Labyrinth', truly stunning.
