On July 23rd, it was a great day for me, and I would like to thank a dear friend of mine who took me to the concert of this legendary group, gifting me with an indescribable emotion.
The Elio e le storie tese offered an excellent performance both from a technical standpoint and in terms of engagement (I laughed my head off from start to finish). Contrary to what I expected, the audience was large (also because the concert was free) and very enthusiastic. Elio managed to keep the audience's attention alive, with the help of his faithful companion who has accompanied him for several years, Mangoni.

The setlist was more than decent, starting with the opening song, JOHN HOLMES. Then the atmosphere and allure skyrocketed as the concert went on, allowing for greater appreciation of the band's immense talent. The songs I enjoyed the most are undoubtedly SHPALMAN, where I sang at the top of my lungs, TAPPARELLA, a historic song of the group and, as repeatedly emphasized by Elio, a song with a high cultural rate, and PAGANO. It’s worth mentioning Mangoni’s performance, the soul of the band who, with his various costumes, had everyone rolling in laughter; remarkable also was the drum solo and Cesareo's performance. Anyway, there were other very engaging songs, for example: LA TERRA DE CACHI, JIMMY IL PEDOFILO, FOSSI FIGO, and ESSERE DONNA OGGI, but the great revelation was SUPERGIOVANE, the wonderful song that closed the concert and conveyed more emotion to the audience. Overall, this concert was excellent and very enjoyable, even though I have to say that out of the 16/17 songs played, I only knew half of them.

If Elio e le storie tese are in your area, take my advice, don’t miss them live, they are fantastic surely among the best Italian bands.
PS: The only small disappointment, if we want to call it that, was the absence of MIO CUGGINO and SERVI DELLA GLEBA, two of my favorite EELST songs; oh well, you can't have everything!!!
