DeBaser reviews on Eiffel 65 are polarized: some reviewers dismiss them as tacky euro-dance, others praise their catchy melodies and sincere pop. The group's breakthrough single "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" and the debut album Europop are recurrent reference points. Contact! is discussed as a more mature, varied album that suffered from poor promotion.

"Contact!" remains unmistakably an Eiffel 65 album, so it gets straight to the point without too many frills: rhythm, enthusiasm, and energy, but on the other hand, the musical offering is much more varied and complete compared to the debut, not just eurodance anymore but also forays into other pop realms and, in general, a more mature sound, making it a fully international album with full dignity.

I like Eiffel 65, and I especially like them in this guise: raw, commonplace, copycats, moreover in Italian, without that "international" aura of the English language.
