"The album is powerful, ferocious, and sharp, hitting the listener with a violently sonic approach."

"Each song is an extraordinary moment of both mental and auditory devastation, the CD emanates an incredible power."

Immolation's fourth album, 'Close To A World Below' (2000), marks a peak in the band's brutal death metal career. The album features powerful anti-Christian themes and showcases exceptional technical skill in guitars and drums. Ross Dolan's intense growls complement the relentless riffs and complex solos. Each track delivers high energy without a single weak moment, solidifying the album as a standout in the genre. Listen to Immolation's 'Close To A World Below' and experience one of brutal death metal's finest moments.

It almost seems as if they want to simultaneously incorporate violence and solemnity, two elements that are really difficult to couple.

A truly unique work, fairly competent in execution and bold in experimentation, an album not easy to listen to but not to be discarded.

Sympathy's 2002 album Invocation marks a stylistic shift from thrash to a more brutal and technical death metal sound enhanced by keyboards. The album balances violence and solemnity with some standout tracks like "Fey Illusion" and "Occupy." Despite some rough production, the work is unique and experimental, offering a challenging yet worthwhile listening experience. Explore Sympathy's Invocation for a bold and unique death metal experience blending power, solemnity, and technical skill.

Violence, technique, and expressiveness are each at the service of the other to create an ensemble of great level.

"Demigod," considered by many their masterpiece, is nothing but the child of this wonderful work called "Satanica".

Behemoth's fourth album, Satanica, released in 1999, fuses Death and Black Metal to create a complex and powerful sound. The band showcases technical skill, imaginative riffs, and evocative atmospheres. Vocals complement the intense music, and standout tracks like "Decade Of Therion" highlight their growth. The album is considered a stepping stone toward the band's later masterpiece, Demigod. Discover the intense fusion of Death and Black Metal in Behemoth's Satanica—listen now and witness a defining moment in extreme metal history!

The record is powerful, possibly the most violent CD of the group; drums are blazing, where the double bass hits race quickly and resonate in the listener’s chest.

Simon Petersen, in my opinion, has one of the most beautiful and expressive growls in metal, getting very close to the levels of Mikael Åkerfeldt and Paul Kuhr.

Exmortem's 2002 album Pestilence Empire delivers a fierce and aggressive death metal experience with blazing drums and expressive growls. While the bass is somewhat lost in the mix, the overall performance, especially the vocal growls by Simon Petersen, stands out as highly emotional and powerful. The album offers a relentless wall of sound across its 9 tracks, making it ideal for fans of uncompromising metal intensity. It’s not for those seeking melody, but for those craving raw aggression. Listen to Exmortem's Pestilence Empire for a brutal, no-holds-barred death metal experience!

The brilliant German multi-instrumentalist of Turkish origin excels at vocals, guitar, bass, and uses a drum machine for percussion.

Each track brutally drags the listener, who feels sucked into the intricate note patterns, not a single song that bores thanks to the variety of riffing.

Released in 1999, Onset Of Putrefaction is Necrophagist's debut album entirely performed by Muhammed Suiçmez after the band disbanded. The album features intricate, complex riffs and skilled guitar solos supported by electronic drums that go beyond typical blast beats. Praised for its relentless and flawless musical execution, it remains a technical death metal milestone, rivaling even the band’s later work. This album showcases extraordinary musicianship and innovation in the genre. Listen to Necrophagist's Onset Of Putrefaction and experience one of technical death metal's finest solo masterpieces!

It's a shame that all this is noticeable only at the end of the album.

'In The Groves Of Death'... is the best conclusion the album could have.

Insomnium's 'Above The Weeping World' blends melodic death metal with progressive and doom influences. Though expertly performed, the album suffers from repetitive tracks early on. However, the final three tracks stand out with varied riffs, acoustic elements, and emotional depth, notably the epic 'In The Groves Of Death.' This suggests a promising direction for the band’s future work. Explore Insomnium's evolving sound—listen to 'Above The Weeping World' and experience the fusion of melodic death and progressive metal.

The singer’s performance alone accounts for half of the album’s overall value.

'Intoxicated By Death' features an intro that sets a truly haunting atmosphere.

Exmortem’s debut album 'Labyrinths Of Horror' released in 1995 is a solid entry into the Danish Death Metal scene. The drums and vocals stand out for their power and originality, while guitars deliver sharp riffs. Although the bass is underrepresented, the album maintains good intensity and atmosphere across its tracks. Key songs like 'Intoxicated By Death' and 'Necronomicon' showcase the band's energetic style. This album set a strong foundation for Exmortem’s future progression. Dive into Exmortem’s powerful debut and explore the roots of Danish Death Metal today!

The electronic textures are engaging and moving, the instruments unite into a singular collective of sounds that transport the mind elsewhere.

The male and female voices intertwine, and it’s precisely this contrast that enhances the emotional intensity of the songs.

Antimatter's 2001 debut album 'Saviour' showcases the multi-instrumental talents of Duncan Patterson and Mick Moss. The album blends electronic textures with emotional vocal performances, especially highlighting female voices alongside Moss. Standout tracks include 'Over Your Shoulders' and 'The Last Laugh,' where vocal contrasts elevate the emotional depth. While the album could use more vocal interplay, it's a high-quality and engaging listen for fans of atmospheric music. Listen to Antimatter's 'Saviour' and experience its haunting blend of electronic and vocal atmospheres.

The drums are launched into beautiful double bass drum plays and breaks that are truly appreciable, although unfortunately, the sound given to the snare drum in production is in my opinion indecent.

Erik on guitar is committed to studying atonal riffs that perhaps have the flaw of sounding a bit too similar in some songs.

Deeds of Flesh's 2005 album Crown of Souls delivers solid brutal death metal with guttural vocals and technical double bass drumming. While the guitar riffs sometimes sound repetitive and the snare drum production is flawed, the bass work stands out positively. The album maintains listener engagement but suffers from some monotony towards the end. Notable tracks include Medical Murder and Hammer-Forged Blade. Discover the brutal intensity of Crown of Souls—listen now and explore Deeds of Flesh's relentless death metal sound.

A sublime album from the first to the last track.

One of the most emotional albums I’ve ever listened to.

Planetary Confinement marks Duncan Patterson's final album with Antimatter, recorded in separate sessions in Ireland and England. The album features emotive acoustic, piano, and violin elements alongside dual vocals by Mick Moss and Amélie Festa. Praised as a deeply emotional and atmospheric work, it skillfully balances melancholic melodies with beautiful instrumentation. The reviewer highly recommends it as a touching and introspective musical journey. Listen to Antimatter’s Planetary Confinement and immerse yourself in a deeply emotional musical journey.
