Candlemass are 'everything that sounds Doom today' in an absolute sense.

After a couple of listens to the first, garish, 'Death Thy Lover' I thought there was something not working.

The 'Death Thy Lover' EP marks Candlemass's 30th anniversary with four tracks rooted in their signature epic doom metal style. While it features well-crafted music and the return of Mats Levén on vocals, the EP falls short compared to past landmark albums and previous vocalists' impact. Fans may find some standout moments, but overall this release feels more like a transitional or filler effort amid ongoing band challenges. Discover Candlemass's legacy and listen to 'Death Thy Lover' to explore the evolving sound of epic doom metal.

This band is among the most original and long-lived in the entire Death/Doom scene.

'When Desperation Fills The Void' reaches almost moving peaks of haunting completeness.

Novembers Doom's latest album 'Into Night's Requiem Infernal' showcases a refined blend of Death/Doom metal with gothic and progressive influences. Despite being overlooked by the mainstream, the band delivers complex compositions and experimental tracks that stand out. Key songs reveal influences from My Dying Bride, Katatonia, and even Pink Floyd. The review praises the album's quality and originality, encouraging those interested in sophisticated metal to listen. Discover the depth and originality of Novembers Doom—listen to 'Into Night's Requiem Infernal' now and explore their unique metal fusion.

Listening to Swallow the Sun is like undergoing a catharsis.

"Empty, Gloomy, and Despair". Three words that perfectly dress the music of Swallow the Sun and that in New Moon have reached their compositional peak.

Swallow the Sun's "New Moon" is praised as a deeply emotional and cathartic album within the death/doom metal genre. The review emphasizes the need for patient, focused listening to appreciate the rich atmospheres and melancholic melodies. The album's tracks balance heavy, oppressive elements with moments of ethereal vocals, creating an intense and diverse emotional journey. Highlight songs include "Falling World" and "Weight of the Dead," with the reviewer calling it one of the best releases of the year. Sit down, close your eyes, and immerse yourself in the dark beauty of Swallow the Sun’s New Moon today.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it—but maybe equip it with a few extra hundred horses and remap the control unit.

The 'longest journey' is indeed over, worn out by sublime atmospheric samples that are nice to remember and bring to mind.

Ensiferum's 'From Afar' stays true to their classic folk metal formula while adding exciting nuances and versatility. The album features epic choruses, harsh vocals, and melodic parts inspired by Viking lore and Tolkien-like atmospheres. Standout tracks like 'Twilight Tavern' and 'Heathen Throne' showcase their signature blend of power and emotion. While not the top folk album of the year, it confirms Ensiferum's mastery in their genre. Listen to 'From Afar' and experience Ensiferum's epic folk metal journey today!

Anyone, and I mean absolutely anyone who loves the "Gothic" genre, with every release of Paradise Lost should honestly jump off their chair.

"Faith Divides Us - Death Unites Us" is a song to which thousands of adjectives could be attributed, but I choose one only, simple and straightforward: beautiful.

This review praises Paradise Lost's 'Faith Divides Us - Death Unites Us' as a significant and well-crafted Gothic metal album. The band successfully blends their Death/Doom origins with symphonic and dark rock elements. Standout tracks like 'Faith Divides Us - Death Unites Us' and 'Last Regret' showcase the band's emotional depth and musical mastery. Although different from their classics like 'Icon' or 'Draconian Times,' the album offers a fresh and compelling listening experience. Discover the dark beauty of Paradise Lost's latest Gothic metal journey—listen now and feel the melancholy and power!

How to release a simple and straightforward album while taking the most challenging path of intricate technicalities.

The greatest flaw of this album: the fact that it sounds too precise, too perfect, too studied.

Divine Heresy's Bringer of Plagues showcases impressive technical mastery and seasoned musicianship, led by Dino Cazares and talented bandmates. The album features a balance of brutal speed and melodic vocals but suffers from overly precise production that reduces raw energy. While some tracks stand out, others feel disconnected. Overall, a solid but not standout record in the death metal genre. Explore Bringer of Plagues and experience the technical intensity of Divine Heresy today!

I liked this album a lot. Certainly more than the previous 'The Apostasy,' which was already an incredible blow to the ears.

Inferno: a drummer who has nothing to envy compared to the likes of Hellhammer and Nicholas Barker.

The review praises Behemoth's 'Evangelion' as a standout death metal album showcasing refined raw production and strong classical instrumentation. Nergal's vocals and Inferno's drumming receive particular acclaim. The album is noted for its technical complexity, uncompromising style, and carefully crafted songs with no fillers. 'Evangelion' is positioned as a landmark release that cements Behemoth’s place among metal legends. Dive into Behemoth's Evangelion and experience one of death metal's finest works—turn up the volume and feel the power!

This album is not a Metal album, and it doesn’t even come close. It is a folk work.

If you know how to listen to it, this album will be appreciated, and in a big way.

The review reflects initial confusion but ultimately praises Eluveitie's daring departure from metal to a purely folk album in Evocation I: The Arcane Dominion. Emphasizing acoustic instruments, female vocals, and Gaelic lyrics, the album is appreciated for its originality and atmospheric depth. While it may challenge fans expecting metal, the reviewer values its complexity and melodic qualities. The album is seen as a courageous and well-crafted evolution in Eluveitie's discography. Explore Eluveitie’s bold folk journey in Evocation I and experience a fresh, melodic take beyond metal!

Candlemass is a glaring example of that. After all, what can one expect from the Giants, if not that they should release massive works?

Nothing new is invented here, rather it is reworked, dirtied a bit, bastardized again, and made darker and more epic.

The review praises Candlemass' 2009 album, Death Magic Doom, as a textbook example of the doom metal genre. With powerful sound, expressive vocals by Robert Lowe, and clear influences from Black Sabbath and Ronnie James Dio, the album offers a dark, swampy atmosphere with no filler tracks. It is a massive work that demonstrates Candlemass' mastery and ability to reinvent themselves while honoring their legacy. Dive into the dark epicness of Candlemass' Death Magic Doom and experience doom metal mastery today!

If you don’t appreciate Amon Amarth’s sound continuity, you must acknowledge their innate talent for creating badass and powerful songs.

"Twilight of Thunder God" offers exhilarating moments with a good balance of epic, power, melody, and Viking themes.

The review recognizes the Viking metal genre as somewhat saturated but praises Amon Amarth for their consistent talent and powerful musical execution. Twilight Of The Thunder God does not revolutionize the genre but delivers classic epic Viking themes with strong melodies and guest collaborations. The reviewer highlights standout tracks that mix brutality with melody, noting the band's mastery of their sound. Overall, it's an album well worth listening to for fans and those open to its style. Dive into Amon Amarth’s epic Viking metal journey—listen to Twilight Of The Thunder God today!
