The Verve - Rolling People

Of the four super famous tracks, I only like Sonnet and Don't Drugs, but not as much as the rest of the album; the so-called minor tracks seem to me to be better. I've never understood the success of Bitter Sweet Symphony, the rights for which go to Jagger and Richards, and Lucky Man.

Ten Storey Love Song - The Stone Roses (Audio Only)

Even though this album has almost nothing to do with Britpop, I want to mention them for the importance and youth excitement they managed to create with the album Omonino, a manifesto of the Mad-Chester Sound that inspired Britpop artists.

Wide Open Space - Mansun

#britpop 93-97
13/40
A manifesto album that encapsulates many strengths and a few minor flaws of Britpop. Less retro than other bands because they draw directly from those who preceded them a few years: Suede, Pulp, Primal Scream. I don't know why they've always made me think of Duran Duran during the Ordinary World era in a Britpop style.

Suede - Beautiful Ones

After Butler's departure and two albums of a certain quality, it wasn't easy to predict such commercial success.

Cornershop - Brimful Of Asha

#britpop 93-97
15/40
One of the most beautiful albums of the nineties. Raga Rock Hip Hop Dub Britpop and so much more.

Supergrass - Alright

Britpop in all its Glam facets with the attitude and exuberance of Punk (Buzzcooks).

PLACEBO - Teenage Angst

Quoters for sure, but capable of churn out one successful single after another also thanks to Molko's voice.

Black Grape "In the Name of the Father"

#britpop 93-97

18/40
The right evolution of the Happy Mondays sound with the updated addition of Primal Scream in the Britpop era. Unexpected considering the main character named Shaun Ryder.

THE CHARLATANS - One to another

#britpop 93-97
19/40
Good album but in 1997 the specialized press had its eyes elsewhere, and rightly so.

Gorky's Zygotic Mynci - The Barafundle Bumbler (with Lyrics)

#britpop 93-97
20/40

Let's say that Britpop is approached from a distance, an album that would be a top contender if the review had been dedicated to the Psychedelic Folk Pop genre. A band as extraordinary as it is unknown.

Queen - We Are The Champions (Remastered 2011)

It's true that we're the strongest, but what a struggle.

Bis - Rebel Soul

#britpop 93-97
21/40
An attempt to update Disco Punk (like B52's) in the Britpop era. Only partially successful due to too many tracks not being up to the best standards; it could have turned into a fantastic EP, what a shame.

Manic Street Preachers Design For Life Lyrics

The AOR side of Britpop.

The Boo Radleys - Lazarus

#britpop 93-97
23/40
A gem that leans more towards Psychedelic Pop than Britpop, less fortunate (in terms of sales) than the subsequent Wake Up (more Britpop) but a thousand times more interesting.

Lush - Ladykillers

#britpop 93-97
26/40
After two albums and various Dream Pop-Shoegaze EPs, even they cannot escape the desire and need to cash in.

Ocean Colour Scene - Get Away

#britpop 93-97
27/40
Closing track (not a single) from the excellent Moseley Shoals. Four super singles and the unconditional admiration of Paul Weller, who wanted them on tour and in the studio by his side. A nice mix of Beatles, Stones, Jam, Who, and a little bit of their own.
