Life Albums #28 Wilco - At Least That's What You Said The peak of an extraordinary band, pearls of songwriting, melody, and haunting melancholy. In a career without a single misstep. Including Uncle Tupelo as well.

Life Records #27 ELECTRIC PRUNES - The Great Banana Hoax (1967) For me, one of the peaks of American psychedelia and one of the most beautiful albums of the '60s. From the explosive energy of this piece and the concluding one to the wonderful theatricality of tracks like "Antique Doll" or the mascot track of '60s psychedelia "Dr. Do Good", moving through absolute masterpieces like "I" (with that beautiful central piece) or "Hideaway" or the melody of "Big City" and the nursery rhyme of "Wind-up Toys". Fantastic.

Life Discs #26 1971 Comus - First Utterance [Full album] I recommended it before @[tonysoprano] and well... Something like this, in British folk-prog or in general, had never been heard and I haven't found anything like it since. Inexplicable, literally unique, rhythmically magical, completely acoustic, atmospherically indefinable, and I could keep shooting out these strange definitions but in the end, you really understand the feelings from this album only through listening. I've had it for years and it remains one of the most beautiful ever for me. "Song to Comus."

Disks of Life #25 Jefferson Airplane - Volunteers (All LP) All 4 albums by Jefferson Airplane from "Surrealistic Pillow" to this one are life albums for me (yes, even "Crown of Creation") but the total and grand epicness of "Volunteers," well... And then "Wooden Ships" is their definitive track (theirs and Crosby's).

Life Discs #24 The Byrds - Fifth Dimension (1966) (Full Album) Why? And why would the title track alone be enough, just that, even before reaching Nazim Hikmet set to music, before "Eight Miles High," and even before that couple of British traditional songs (how wonderful "John Riley") that these dear Americans wanted to gift us.

Life Discs #23 The Birthday Party- Hamlet (pow, pow, pow) Since I couldn't find the full album, I'm posting this orgiastic bacchanal of violence and madness. The Birthday Party with the pedal to the metal, their most incendiary and raw record, all the darkness of the Blues pushed to the grotesque. Essential.

Life Discs #22 Camel - Mirage [ FULL ALBUM ] *HQ So much romance, so much class, so many great melodies, so many ideas. So much beauty. I choose this one because a "Lady Fantasy" is worth a career; among all their gems, it shines the brightest.

R.E.M. - Wendell Gee Chilling song, one of their most beautiful for me.

Life Discs #21 Joni Mitchell - Hejira (1976) Full Album Pon-ci-pon-ci-po-po-pon. But when a singer-songwriter embarks on a completely new phase of her career and delivers masterpieces capable of surpassing works like "Ladies on the Canyon" and "Blue," then you can only tip your hat, bow down, and go polish her floors at home. The perfect album, period. And the bass by Pastorius, holy cow, speaks, blessed be him.

Life Records #20 Neil Young ‎– On The Beach (1974) CD, HDCD, Album Again, a tough choice among at least 4 titles... But this is the record of "Ambulance Blues," which for years has been my favorite song by Nello, and there's no comparison. Sorry "Tonight's The Night."

Life Records #19 Soft Machine - Third (1970) I know I know, now the ones who say that the first two are fresher, more spontaneous, less wordy will show up. In fact, I almost put the first one because all three are life records. It's just that here there’s "Moon in June," and good night to everyone.

The Keith Tippett Group - Green And Orange Night Park One of the most inspired moments of Keith Tippett, with Elton Dean playing the role of an entire pride of lions. This piece is a torrent of emotions, and what wonderful sounds come out of it.

Life Records #18 Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures (1979) Full Album Because between the two black holes of Joy Division, I’ve always slightly preferred the one with a little more vitality.

Life Albums #17 Bert Jansch - Jack Orion "Jack Orion" guys, the masterpiece of masterpieces of Jansch as a solo artist, when he finally embraced the rediscovery of traditional British music filling us with this wonderful album, spine-tingling title track, an album among the peaks of the genre obviously. John Renbourn accompanies his mate on the other guitar, as usual.

Life Discs #16 Kate Bush - Hounds of Love Full Album Because in the end "The Dreaming" is even more beautiful, but it's definitely with this other masterpiece that I started to love it.

The Quiet Joys of Brotherhood - Sandy Denny Another version with Fairport can be found in the bonuses of "Liege & Lief," but this... This is the definitive one. Would you ever say it's not a British traditional? And yet, it isn't. Mimi and Richard Farina - The quiet joys of brotherhood

Life Discs #15 Bauhaus - In the Flat Field Because this theatrical, dark, glamorous, magnetic, irresistible masterpiece has literally enchanted me. What a gem the title track is...

Life Discs #14 The Who - Who's Next Album Complete Discography 1971 A super classic that I continue to love unconditionally.
