A masterpiece represents something perfect, but if there’s the hand of Vittorio De Scalzi (a guy who has played Psych, Prog, and Jazz Rock with the New Trolls), the magic is guaranteed. And I’ll tell you more, in this crazy Genoese group there’s also Vittorio’s brother: Aldo De Scalzi, who, along with other brilliant musicians, has signed one of the most innovative albums of all time. It’s been 47 years, but the content of this work is still Future. Merta and Cocomelastico are journeys through turquoise visions, acoustic guitars, synths, and purely Canterbury vibes. The pulsating carnival delirium of Seppia, now ethereal, now impetuous, is nothing short of astonishing, while Napier is so unclassifiable that it would make Robert Wyatt envious. Finally, La floricultura di Tschincinnata, La Bolla, and Off are sound frescoes that reflect on dawns mirrored by the sea, where the instruments lift enchanting images and sensations. A record as big as a house.
