Genesis - Deep In The Motherlode
The album that marks the end of the golden age. If they had included "Duke's travels" (the very last prog gem from the plastic-sounding "Duke"), it would have been the perfect closure. Nevertheless, the sound of "A trick of the tail," "Wind and wuthering," and "And then..." deserves credit for creating the neo-prog of Pendragon and IQ (a genre that I love only thanks to Marillion, who are honestly a bit more than just a copy and paste).

Chris Squire - Silently Falling
The best of Yes, along with Wakeman, in a solo album. Howe and Anderson too light...I expected more from Jon's Olias of Sunhillow, not to mention the lullabies with Vangelis.

Can - Soup
What a genius Czukay..."Movies" and "On the way to the peak of normality" are two inconceivable, imaginative, unrealizable albums. More predictable are "Full Circle" and "Snake charmer" with Wobble (divine Jah with the PIL but too reggae in the solo albums)... from such a collaboration, I expected more brilliance and less craftsmanship. The two ambient albums with Sylvian, on the other hand, are interesting.

Clock DVA Relentless 5 30 Industrial Records Cassette IRC 31 1980
Super bomb noise from the malevolent debut "White souls in black suit." Sublime up to "Advantage," then the forgettable afro funk in the style of A Certain Ratio with "High holy disco mass" and "Passions still aflame" (I’m not enthusiastic about those two bass chords with ACR's voodoo trumpets) and the spectacular comeback with the seminal "Buried dreams" (the last masterpiece, considering the subsequent albums of monotonous trance).

John Foxx - The Garden
An album that, while not reaching the magic of "Metamatic," certainly offers the last gems from the blonde fox: this one, "Systems of romance," "Europe after the rain," and "Dancing like a gun" (saved especially by the instrumental parts). The other tracks (like "You were there," "Night suit," or "Walk away") do not add anything further to the Foxxian Art, which will be diluted by the subsequent albums.

Chicago - Liberation (2002 Remaster)
Masterful until the third album, from there on soft rock, AOR, and songs for the heartbroken by Peter Cetera.

Rick Wakeman - The Journey / Recollection (Medley / Live)
Aside from the careers of Collins, Howe, and Hackett (too lightweight compared to the miracles of Yes and Genesis), I love all the prog geniuses in their solo works... "Fish out of water" by Squire, "Olias of sunhillow" by Anderson (just this album, considering the lullabies that followed with Vangelis), "Exposure" by Fripp (exceptional even with the art wave of the League of Gentlemen but apart from the work-related projects with Andy Summers) Hammill, Gabriel...

Tuxedomoon - Hugging the Earth
The latest masterpiece album by Tuxedomoon. A colossal, picturesque, total band, which only the surreal atmospheres of Coil have reached... I find the Legendary Pink Dots to be simpler and more predictable.
