Perhaps is the last valuable album and contains masterpieces on par with the other albums. The perfect example of how not to fall into mere synth pop. Breakfast, Stranger in your voice, Those first impressions, and The best of you are the other (latest) gems.
P.S. Billy was also a great lover of kraut, another point in his favor.

Associates - A Girl Named Property
Far from snubbing the vocal styles of Foxx, Almond, and Sylvian, Billy Mackenzie remains the favorite. He's a wonderful gem that Music has gifted us. The perfect example of Art and Soul united in the same sign. He didn't limit himself, like others, to capturing the unparalleled charm of Ferry and the Roxy of the first 4 albums. The sound of the Associates is pure art rock, a futuristic gothic version of the '80s. And I'm sure it would have shocked Freddie Mercury as well.

In terms of technique, they could easily embody fusion in the style of Weather from Heavy Weather. They managed to perfect this genre even in the song format, without that plastic sound characteristic of Uzeb and Yellowjackets.
