Born initially as a sort of response to Cream, the Jimi Hendrix Experience soon became the most formidable band of the late '60s. Jimi Hendrix was its leader, not to mention the most talented, the one who managed to capture almost all the attention, but Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding were by no means mere supporting players; rather, they were two excellent and respected musicians. They were certainly not the first example of a power trio, but they were simply its highest expression.

A "seminal" band, they had a remarkable impact on the music scene of that time and beyond. Three excellent musicians made instrumental improvisations, especially live, their strong suit. Unfortunately, the sung parts in the studio related to their original repertoire were a bit dull and often cloying.

One of the most useless characters of today's Italian television.

his medley of the notes Somewhere over the Rainbow and What a Wonderful World is of unmatched beauty, among the most beautiful things the human ear can hear.

Wigs, mustaches, glitter, and comments that confirm that much of the negative judgments about this band are about everything but the music. Unfortunately, in 2009, there are still people out there who judge by appearances. I would give their studio production a 3 on average, but live they rocked, so 5 for their live performance. A 4 overall for their career.

A fantastic hard & heavy band. Among the few capable of thrilling with powerful tracks and then moving you with poignant ballads. Music that's always well played and of great class. Those who think that the Scorpions are just Wind of Change and little else make the same mistake as those who think Deep Purple is only Smoke on the Water and not much more. Recommended albums? All the ones I know: Tokyo Tapes, Virgin Killer, Taken by Force, Lovedrive, World Wide Live, Live Bites.

If it's not hard, it's not rock!

In the years when kids wondered what the lyrics of Stairway to Heaven were hiding, what the prism of Dark Side Of The Moon represented, in the years when many thought that Black Sabbath had come straight from hell and that the Hermit with his Four Symbols might lead us to Paradise, in those same years there was a band that was only focused on playing and was traveling the world promoting a piece that talked about a fucking fire in a casino.
