Flying Colors

Maybe I'm cursing... but for me, they could be considered the new Supertramp, although the sound is quite different! In fact, their sound is a rather light and catchy pop-rock with sporadic prog incursions characterized by a decidedly elegant touch that is never "rough"; they are simply marked by a greater hard and blues vein. In any case, a band with a fresh, personal, and decidedly non-derivative sound, to me is far from a commercial move!

Nickelback

Let's be objective... they are not a great band, they are also a working-class group that knows how to do well what they do, little technique, little variety, good energy. But I enjoy listening to them, they still have good melodies. In my opinion, they are the last true embodiment of the concept of pure rock'n'roll; what makes them somehow interesting is the extreme nonchalance with which they alternate hard and soft tracks, as well as the fact that even when they veer towards alternative metal (or the grunge of their early days) or towards pop, they manage to remain tremendously and classically rock'n'roll. A band to listen to without too many mental gymnastics and prejudices!
