What is most commendable about them is their willingness to try new things, even at the cost of not being liked! They are not slaves to their fans like many other bands... After their golden period, which ideally stretches up to "Promised Land," they had no qualms about making post-grunge albums or even veering towards pop-rock like their latest! They have taken a barrage of criticism but have never paid any attention to it! That's how it's done; art is the expression of creativity, not the demands of others!
