Clever guys, not to be taken lightly: they took rap, metal, pop, and the nonsense from MTV, proposing, around the year 2000, a perfect mix for a horde of high schoolers desperately seeking attitude.. Then, of course, Wes Borland's makeup/cross-dressing adds that touch of ridiculous maleficence that always looks very cool..

They're not my type and I can't say I like them. However, "Downward Spiral" has an undeniable charm (morbid and perverse, yes, but irresistible..) and Trent Reznor is an enigmatic and remarkable figure. Besides, they have a really cool name...
