So, do you know Aerogramme? I really like Sleep and Release. "Enter" by Russian Circles. If you want something angrier (much angrier), "We are the Romans" by Botch. "Malval" by Shora, more post-rock. The first album by Oceansize (more prog). Then, well, in the post-hardcore realm there are many but I don't know if you’re interested... Pelican, Rosetta. Last but not least, Irepress with "Samus Octology," a record I adore (but be careful, it's instrumental).

No, I don't know them, do they do alternatives too? Anyway, who told you that I’m not very metal? That's not true. :D

Beautiful Pixies! I like them too, especially this album. Great heavy sounds, but also post-rock/alternative. Although, to be honest, a 4 seems like the most accurate rating to me... halfway between Mars Volta and Deftones.

For heaven's sake, I'm not talking about you. I was talking about the majority of sheep whose existence is undeniable. But for you, the Queen were countercultural and faced media ostracism like the most uncompromising groups? Come on, I hope you're joking because we're talking about one of the bands that took themselves the least seriously ever and never had a problem declaring (from the '80s onwards) that they were making disposable pop tunes perfect for being popular... but do you know Fugazi? If so, then you know what it means to achieve widespread popularity while systematically avoiding mass media.

"What your ears tell you is worth much more than the opinion of 100 super-music experts, always and anyway." Unfortunately, many don’t even open their ears, but blindly (or perhaps deafly) follow the advertising inputs from the media, "Amici" di Maria de Filippi, Sanremo MTV, 98% of Italian radio stations, newspapers, magazines—essentially, they lack critical spirit, as they dive directly into what is offered by the entertainment industry. If a person makes a comparison and knows a decent number of artists and then tells me they still prefer to listen to those I listed in the post above, then their journey will be more dignified than someone who has no idea who 99.999% of the great artists in music history are and is convinced that Gigi D'Alessio, Gigi Finizio, and Sal Da Vinci are the epitome of greatness. You can call me an extremist, call me whatever you want, but I believe that musical tastes go hand in hand with and develop alongside musical culture. Of course, there’s always a subjective factor that leads you to prefer one thing over another, but this is the result of knowledge and conscious comparison. For example, at 12-13 years old, I had specific tastes very similar to those of “occasional” mass listeners, the so-called “free thinkers,” as you call them; then, as I grew older and listened to hundreds of new artists, I realized that I immensely enjoyed listening to artists who were not at all promoted by the media, and the further I go, the more I find.

"But if there are those who, listening to Madonna, Michael Jackson, or Duran Duran, feel good, I don't see anything wrong or evil in that." But I also don't see anything wrong in the fact that millions of people feel good and enjoy listening to Gigi D'Alessio, Laura Pausini, Biagio Antonacci, Spice Girls, Britney Spears, Marco Carta, Dj Francesco, Paola e Chiara, Justin Timberlake, Backstreet Boys, Finley, Dari, Lunapop, Tiziano Ferro, Nek, Ramazzotti... I was simply criticizing the reasoning that fans of these "artists" often use, which is based on sales to determine that this person or that is the best because they have so many gold records, so many platinum records, etc... And I don’t want to say that those who sell a lot are automatically crap, but simply that it is not a reliable parameter. And anyway, those you define as "free" because they think little are the cannon fodder that keeps a corrupt system like ours going. Because the clever and dishonest rely precisely on the millions of sheep that think little and BUY ONLY BECAUSE IT'S TRENDY to further their own interests. Because if you tell the sheep that crap is good and it's in fashion, they will go looking for it and will wander around covered in crap, and whoever has more crap on them will be more fashionable and accepted by the masses that you define as "free."
