Media control is not just about Maria De Filippi and Big Brother (they at most contribute to putting minds to sleep)... they are just a part of it. We're talking about a power that controls countless sectors of the economy and communication... an overwhelming dominance in publishing (Mondadori, Panorama, Einaudi, Sperling & Kupfer, Le Monnier, Il Giornale, Sorrisi e Canzoni, etc.), cinema (Medusa), the news broadcasts and sharply aligned TV programs of Mediaset, the profound conditioning of the Rai board of directors by the proxies of the rulers, the invitations to certain types of journalists on broadcasts and the systematic exclusion of others who are more inconvenient, the daily choices made by newspapers and news broadcasts to cover only and exclusively the themes that politics instrumentally decides are on the agenda... all this and much more...

Primordial Blues Rock imbued with psychedelia. Clapton's guitar in "Tales of Brave Ulysses" is legendary. Even though 6 months earlier a certain "Are You Experienced" had been released, which from my point of view gave it a run for its money.

Great review, a precise and understated analysis of a rather overrated film. For me, "Pi" is a notch above "Requiem," not so much in direction, but in terms of interesting ideas and originality. Comment on Rachel Weisz: O__O

Only "The Blower's Daughter" is saved, and little else. I've mentioned it in another review, but I reiterate that the use of arrangements (strings, double bass, etc.) is, in my opinion, of a "cinematic" nature and therefore quite predictable...

This is Prog-Metal that couldn't be more canonical and stereotypical... all the clichés of the genre are there: massive metal riffs, choirs everywhere on every chorus, arrangements with omnipresent keyboards, syncopations to leave no doubts about technical skill ("heaven forbid people think we can't play!") and the inevitable solos on guitar, keyboards, and unison. I give it 2 stars, but they’re scarce.

I don't know if it's worth delving deeper into this group... I have the 2 volumes of "Low Level Howl," and I don't mind them; it's a varied post-rock that ranges from noisy arrangements to a more classic approach reminiscent of "Explosions in the Sky"...
Clint Eastwood Gran Torino
Voto:
Not bad overall, even though the screenplay at some points suffers from a bit of naivety and a certain banality... you can tell it wasn't written by Eastwood... however, I think it is well above the average of current mass-distributed films. Priceless are some tough scenes with Clint, like the one with the three bully kids, but also interesting is the search for redemption for the guilt created by war.

Great job, Hell!! Amazing review! You did well to focus on darkness as a key concept in Lustmord's art. In one word: unsettling. For me, this is among the top 3-4 Dark Ambient albums in history and definitely a masterpiece of ambient music in general.

Brusko, music can also be seen as art rather than just simple entertainment. Anyway, most of my comments, as you may notice, are on reviews of albums I appreciate, and I don't spend my time trashing the rest, even though it now takes up most of the homepage.
