But what the hell are you rambling about? "Listen to Beat It"? Do you really think I haven't listened to the songs you’re mentioning? Are you out of your mind?? "Legitimizing the black artist"? Was Ray Charles the only one before? What are you blabbering about? Do you have any idea who James Brown, Hendrix, Miles Davis, and an endless list of others are? And you think I don't know who Quincy Jones is? I know very well who he is, and I know he is the main architect of Jackson's records, which wouldn't even exist without his arrangements. Do boy bands have nothing to do with it?? They are competing to imitate him in every possible way! In dancing, singing, and the flashy, useless choreography of concerts. And then, "his records have been played by the best jazz musicians"? Who gives a damn!!!!! Can you believe we should judge a record by who plays it instead of what it contains? But the icing on the cake is "if you have an open mind to experimentation," give me a break!! Michael Jackson experimentation???? I'll name you a hundred truly experimental records... but for goodness' sake.

Yes, it has changed pop music; who has it influenced? Boy bands?

Brusko, I didn't say that if you sell automatically you lack quality; I was just ironically mimicking several Jackson fanatics who attribute artistic talent to their idol based solely on the parameter of record sales. Thinking in terms of "He sold this many, so he's a legend."

lucumine, what does it matter to a Michael Jackson fan about Beethoven? After all, he certainly hasn't sold 750 million copies like their idol, and let's not forget? Beethoven never debuted at number one on the Billboard chart...

Very nice review. Hokuto No Ken deserves only 5 stars, no discussion about it!

Are Zappians like Teaterians? This thesis is based on two invented categories that are completely disconnected from reality. If you mean that the fanatics of two artists are the same, you've discovered hot water... fanatics share similar traits in their fanaticism. And who said that not giving a damn about others’ judgments is a positive thing, while getting upset is wrong? It’s not always like that.

appestato, I am a Scottish post-rock band that released only one LP in 1998, aptly named "Hammock Style." The album is nothing short of stunning; I have never understood why nobody knows about it... Anyway, I would love to hear your thoughts... :)

But isn't "sunny afternoon" in the following "Face to Face"? Anyway, the Kinks' production up to '70 is a treasure to discover and rediscover...

I ask here since there are lovers of these sounds, but does anyone know the Ganger? The album "Hammock Style" in particular... I really like it a lot.
