Yorgos Lanthimos La favorita
Voto:
Lanthimos, what a director! I really enjoyed the film both from a technical standpoint—refined cinematography, high-level set design and costumes—and more generally, the direction and destabilizing camera movements with the usual wide angles and low-angle shots. On the acting side, enormous performances. I truly take my hat off.

To be honest, their Sanremo piece made me feel like gagging, and the competition of nauseating songs was ruthless, you know!
Alfonso Cuarón Roma

The risk of making a hard-to-digest meatloaf was extremely high, but fortunately, we are in the hands of a great director. Take the time to immerse yourself in the story, and you will be rewarded with moments of pure emotion, and dazzled by images of breathtaking beauty.
Adriano Celentano Adrian

The saddest thing is that probably Celentano doesn't even realize how ridiculous all of this is.
Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin

I was hoping for a work like the Beatles' Anthology, where photographs and documents from the era were accompanied by a substantial narrative from the protagonists. A purely photographic book intrigues me less, no matter how visually striking it may be.
Ridley Scott The Counselor - Il procuratore

Thank goodness there are so many other people who liked it; I never understood why it was panned by critics. For me, it's one of the best crime films of its year.
Bob Rafelson Cinque Pezzi Facili (Five Easy Pieces)

ahhh New Hollywood...
Owen Harris Kill Your Friends

Thank you, I find this interesting, it's on my watchlist.
Roman Polański Quello che non so di lei
Voto:
Denying Woody Allen the distribution of a film is a crime against humanity. An absolute genius at the mercy of a multinational retail corporation. And Polanski expelled from the Academy... this is the country that elected Trump. Enjoy it.
Martin McDonagh Tre Manifesti a Ebbing, Missouri
Voto:
"Three Billboards" is a fantastic movie with outstanding performances from everyone (I particularly adored Rockwell), although I still prefer McDonagh's "In Bruges" and "Seven Psychopaths", perhaps because they are more black comedy and less dramatic. As for "Hail Caesar" and "The Hateful Eight", if only we had more disappointing films like that!! They may not be the peaks of the Coen and Tarantino careers, but they still stand out prominently among today's films. Anyway, I'm incredibly hyped for "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs," an anthology film showcased in just a few days in Venice, and next year for "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood," the good Quentin's film set during the Bel Air massacre days.
