Alan Parker Fuga di mezzanotte (Midnight Express)
Voto:
In the ass of the high court of Ankara! But come on, trying to get through customs checks with all that stuff sticking out from the chest is just foolish... not to mention when in the defense statement of the appeal he calls all Turks pigs, great strategy... but well, they would have convicted him anyway. Great movie all in all, even though not a total masterpiece.

the opening suite is stunning and puts them on par with the progressive giants from across the Channel, but the true gem of the album is perhaps the incredible "La Città Sottile" (instrumentally it rivals Yes), as well as the delicate and famous melody of "Non Mi Rompete." Moreover, that voice and those lyrics take it to another level.
Joel & Ethan Coen Il Grinta

The Coen brothers are my favorite directors, but I wasn't thrilled by this True Grit at all, which is quite rare in their filmography...

fantastic "Super" in all three versions, "Super 16" in particular is truly unsettling and primal... slowed down like that, it seems to transport you to an ancient and mysterious Japan. It's no coincidence that Tarantino chose it for the third chapter of Kill Bill. It operates outside the box and beyond time.
Soft Machine Volume One

"a sickly sweet singing"????? I've heard a lot of nonsense, but Wyatt being sweet is a first...please engage your brain before you speak. This is a masterpiece.
The Electric Prunes Underground

one of the psychedelic gems of 1967, it’s been 44 years now but it sounds much fresher and more original than much of the current stuff

Around the age of 17, I must have listened to the tracks on this compilation hundreds of times, I was drooling over Gilbert's technique and the ultra-polished ballads... damn, how little you understand at 17! Hehe... but I'm still fond of many of these songs, after all, I can give it a 3.

ironic and unusual texts, short melodic pieces, loud and sung with Coyne's typically intensely off-key voice, a really great album

Two years later, the verse of "Oblivion" still uncovers the houses.
