Dream Theater Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From a Memory

I'm sorry, but I don't understand some aspects of your position: you say they completely take over from Pink Floyd (which, among other things, would drive Wilson crazy) + elements of electronica. On what basis do you say this? It doesn't seem that way to me... You say they are overrated... by whom? Give me an example where you've heard the media (TV, newspapers, internet) praise PT. And I don't understand why if someone believes they are an extraordinary band, it has to depend on being influenced by the average quality of today's rock... What do you know about what I or Adriano Bernard listen to? Personally, I don't evaluate an album by comparing it to new releases on the market; otherwise, I would only listen to masterpieces, if you see what I mean...

They are definitely among the fundamental groups of the '90s and '00s: "The Sky Moves Sideways" is very beautiful, but to get a complete picture you should also listen to "Signify," "In Absentia," "Deadwing," and the "tranquil" pair "Stupid Dream" - "Lightbulb Sun," as well as the unpredictable debut "On the Sunday of Life." After several listens, these albums will live in your mind with their own light (if you're passionate about certain sounds). I really like DT, but I think it's a bit dishonest to criticize a band simply because it touches on Portnoy & co. Besides, the critiques you make regarding PT being self-indulgent are notes that apply more to DT.

Lux, you haven't understood anything about Porcupine Tree if you consider them an imitation of Pink Floyd... Steven Wilson is, in my view, brilliant for the many different solutions he finds to continuously renew his band's sound. Honestly, I don't think there are many proposals out there like theirs.
Gentle Giant The Power And The Glory

As is your usual style, green, you've made an excellent choice reviewing this wonderful album by the Giant. The Power and the Glory carries heavenly melodies, and I would like to bring to the attention of those who may not know them the track "Playing the Game," which I believe is an unsurpassed example of progressive rock, capable of attracting those who are not familiar with this genre. It is reviews like this that make me love this site.

The reinterpretation of the magical "No Quarter" is spectacular, it has all their sound.
Symphony X Twilight In Olympus

In my opinion, if you listen to a Symphony X album, you need to like a bit of power, a bit of prog, and a bit of neoclassical, as well as thrash... basically, don’t compare them to Dream Theater because it’ll lead you down the wrong path, as they are very different. I recommend "V - the new mythology suite" if you love keyboards and symphonic atmospheres, while if you prefer heavier, guitar-driven sounds, go for "The Odyssey"... this album expresses itself more in neoclassical territories.

You see, if you think that someone at 22 cannot be on your level, that's your problem; I know people who are 10-20 years older who think the same way I do... If this whole "child" story is an excuse to avoid confrontation, it means I'm not that immature, don't you think? Respect means listening to someone who's 15 if they speak to you in an intellectually honest way, but you know, I’m a communist, so it’s better to steer clear and ghettoize myself.

Navarf, stop being presumptuous; you just make me laugh after the nonsense you’ve spouted. Anyway, let me remind you in list form: 1. Snorting coke is like winning the lottery; 2. You said things about me that aren’t true, reasoning through stereotypes (social centers, etc...) and attributing statements to me that I never said and don’t believe ("it's crap I've heard before"). 3. Instead of trying to demonstrate that what I stated about the importance of the p.c.i. to Italian history is false, you immediately turned it into a brawl without adding any depth to the discussion. 4. You think you’ve understood everything about life when you come out with "You're envious because they get laid" or "pussy and money run the world": with such gems, I might as well put your poster on my wall...;-D; 5. You think your patchy concepts from a worldly perspective can’t be understood by those who don’t work. Let me tell you something: start lowering your pride and show some respect, and you’ll see that people will do the same with you. That’s all. Best regards.

You have no idea who I am. Just because I express certain ideas, should I hang out at social centers? I'm absolutely the opposite of the hippies or rastas you see at the May 1st concert. Do you realize that you're reasoning based on preconceptions? According to you, just because I have leftist ideas, I should be unemployed and hang out at social centers, maybe shooting up all day long.

I may be a fool, but I have my own ideas and, above all, I don't want to argue with those who don't respect other people's opinions... using your brain clearly isn't something that suits you. Moreover, you haven't refuted what I said about the history of the PCI; you've merely resorted to slinging mud by bringing up only the topic of the foibe, deliberately forgetting the course of the last 50 years, including that of the late Berlinguer (one from whom you should learn a great deal). Therefore, such atrocities (foibe, deportations, dictatorships...) must be condemned as they are enemies of democracy.
