my rating for the album hovers between 4 and 4.5...

And what would be the albums left to gather dust? The ones that Linkin Park fans don't know? Disdaining without knowledge is a nasty beast. Just "Beyond and Before" and "Survival," taken from this album, would devour for breakfast everything you've reviewed so far. But how can you expect that you've listened to anything prior to the '90s?

It hasn't always been terrible, "Blizzard of Oz" and "No More Tears" are excellent. Without Zakk this live performance would be barely a 3, but he manages to bring it up to at least a 4. Mazo, listen to something else too, otherwise you'll get overwhelmed and then Ozzy will make you sick. ;-D

Yes, "Groove or Die" is a great showcase of shred, but what makes Andy take the leap above the others is the entire album "Ear-X-Tacy," where there's something for every taste: Blues, Rock, Hard Rock, Country, and especially instrumental ballads that give you goosebumps... "Cry for You," "Electric Gypsy," "There are no words"... it's his versatility and dazzling class that leave you speechless.
