I agree with Dave, they don't even know where talent resides: useless and harmful... the review seems to have come straight out of a trade magazine like "Rockstar" or "Rolling Stone," using terms like "next big thing," typical of people who know nothing about music and try to sound sophisticated by idolizing uselessness like "Coldplay," "Vines," etc...

Referring to the Areknames album, which you didn’t even listen to, you wrote: "Is this a masterpiece?? :)"... Do you realize? Anyway, I’ll respond: yes, it is a masterpiece and you certainly can’t afford to throw mud on artists you don’t know, nor on the Italian music scene (I’m not talking obviously about commercial stuff), especially considering your listening habits like Linkin Park, etc...

But you can't say "I don't like Italian music"; it would be like saying "I don't like American music" or "I don't like English music": it's an extreme simplification, you can't lump everything together... If you're referring to Pausini-Ramazzotti-Ligabue-Gigi D'Alessio-Cremonini and similar nonsense, I can agree with you, but Italian music is not just that; it consists of a thousand facets that most people ignore because they don't find a place on "Top of the Pops." Take these "Areknames," for example; they make prog-rock inspired by Van Der Graaf Generator and the Canterbury scene, but at the same time, they develop a very personal and original sound... if you don't even listen to them, it's clear that you end up spouting such nonsense.

This album for me sits between 3 and 3.5... there are some good ideas, but it's a bit less fresh than Origin of Symmetry... yes, of course, they are commercially maximized, but they can't be placed on the same level as Linkin Park... those guys are just garbage in CD format... However, the discussion can be made about their latest album, which indeed worsens things sharply and oscillates between 1 and 2 stars...
