It's pointless to digress; I want your arguments on the fact that the groups I mentioned: 1) are from MTV or otherwise manipulated in production; 2) are not fundamental milestones for the evolution of rock music.

No, but unlike you, I already knew the albums he produced and their fundamental importance in history for discovering gigantic artists who definitely have never touched your refined connoisseur ears, but I assure you, they are milestones (see Spiderland or Surfer Rosa), not to mention Puff Daddy or MTV.

Lord, shooting shit at someone you were unaware of just minutes ago, and moreover based on a few lines from Wikipedia, shows what a serious person you are (and also your musical culture).

The bands I mentioned on MTV?!?!?!?! Are you stupid or what?

Dear friend Lord, forgive me but you are spouting colossal nonsense! How can you claim that artists like Slint make albums for the supermarket? It means at the very least that you haven't listened to them...

Do you want names? Godspeed You! Black Emperor (they do post-rock, one of the most important bands ever); Kyuss (main interpreters of stoner, another foundational band), Slint (Spiderland is a legend), Tortoise (among the most original in founding post-rock), Dinosaur Jr. (also brilliant), Labradford, Bark Psychosis, Dirty Three (sensitivity at stellar levels), Swans, Vampire Rodents, Built to Spill, The God Machine, Mogwai...

In the '90s, there are just as many fundamental artists for the history of rock as there were in the '70s. Whether you like them (or, more likely, whether you even know about them) is another matter, but don't come telling me that Slint or Tortoise are less revolutionary than Yes or King Crimson, because that's a colossal nonsense; I could provide you with an endless list of '90s artists who, in terms of originality, innovation, or importance, easily hold their own against much of the '70s output.

For me, those who have salami slices over their eyes are the ones who stubbornly insist on only listening to music from a specific period, rejecting outright everything that came after. That said, I want to let you know that the '70s are also my favorite decade, and I own the most records from that time; however, this does not change the fact that to have an objective 360° view of the history of rock, it is essential to explore across genres and eras much more than you "conservatives" do.

False: '70s drummers learned to play the drums from those of the '60s, and those of the '60s from the drummers of the '50s. Therefore, you just said something stupid.
