William Friedkin Vivere e Morire a Los Angeles
Voto:
What a discovery this crime noir by Friedkin is! Dafoe is brilliant in the role of the ruthless forger, Debra Feuer the prototype of the soulless beauty, Turturro excellent as always. There are shocking twists, heart-pounding scenes like the highway chase, and the persistent feeling throughout the film that evil is constantly in control... all set in the most rundown suburbs of California. It's not for the faint of heart.

Post-rock and instrumental math rock had their moment of glory more in the '90s than in the period from 2000 to 2005.

a great album even if it doesn't reach the immeasurable heights of "Lungo i Bordi". The best moments are, in my opinion, the closing tracks "Manhattan di Notte" and "Stagioni", and, more generally, the entire second half of the record. Excellent review, the closest of the three to the feelings evoked by the songs in question.
Louis Malle Ascensore Per Il Patibolo

great atmosphere of stark claustrophobia and a haunting soundtrack, a plot that is quite simple but effective...perhaps a bit too brief the ending
Orson Welles L'Infernale Quinlan
Voto:
Spectacular noir, great direction, an engaging plot, but above all, masterful performances by Heston and Welles... worth noting is the supporting role of Dennis Weaver, who years later became the star of the legendary "Duel." Finally, a necessary mention for the stunning Janet Leigh, a joy for the eyes.
John Fante La strada per Los Angeles

A sincere and raw novel, in its pathetic and glorious flights of fancy, Arturo Bandini shows us the cruelty of loneliness, the irreparable incomprehension towards his mother and sister, towards acquaintances and the workers around him, the fervor, the restlessness, and the madness of an eighteen-year-old brimming with the desire to live and laden with poetic passion that finds its outlet in writing.
Audioslave Audioslave
Voto:
When it came out at the end of 2002, I was 18 years old. I remember getting it along with "One by One" by the Foo Fighters. I liked it a lot and practically learned it by heart, especially because the owner of the pub I always went to (which, by the way, no longer exists) sang in a tribute band to Audioslave. It’s certainly not a masterpiece, but a rating between 3 and 4 stars feels just right, so let's round it up to 4 for the memories.
Brian Eno Ambient 1: Music For Airports
Voto:
The feelings that this album evokes are, for me, indefinable, assuming one can actually experience feelings/emotions while listening to music that, by definition, is not meant to be listened to but to float fleetingly within an environment, without drawing particular attention... as far as I'm concerned, the invention of so-called "ambient" music by Eno is as brilliant as many other creations born from his creativity.

the best parts are the training, the scene where he tears apart the big puppets with his bare hands, interspersed with those senseless jumps and the clips taken directly from Star Wars with the soundtrack of Indiana Jones. Talk about copyright! Anyway, I confirm the excellence in terms of trash of "Bosco 1", and especially of the unmatched "La croce dalle sette pietre" also known as "L'uomo lupo contro la camorra". I highly recommend "Apocalisse a Frogtown" where the legendary dance of the three snakes reigns supreme (!!!). As for acting, however, the absolute worst is "Alex l'Ariete", hands down. For splatter lovers, "Il vendicatore tossico 4" and especially "Terror Firmer", one of the most disgusting yet ridiculous films in history. Finally, two classics remain in my heart like "Basket Case" and "Brain Damage - La maledizione di Elmer", immortal!
Pearl Jam Vs.

The Nirvana are the group that exudes a visceral rebellion, while I’ve always found Pearl Jam to be much more "mature," both in their choice of lyrics and in their music (very much tied to my beloved Neil, and here I’m biased)... or at least that’s how I’ve always seen them. I love both, but if I were forced at gunpoint to choose, I would (with great pain) pick Pearl Jam, for the longer and more varied discography at high levels. However, if I had to choose just one album from the two discographies, it would be a fierce struggle between "Ten" and "Nevermind," and in the end, I would choose... "Bleach" :P ...anyway, 5 to "VS," which I have always liked a lot.
