Pendragon The Window Of Life
Voto:
Oh my God, the Pendragon, unbearable... neo-prog is a genre that, by itself, gives me hives and, unfortunately, continues to churn out new followers in industrial quantities... but how many less shitty bands would there have been without Marillion? Pendragon, IQ, Arena, Spock's Beard, etc... all the same, a singer who confuses expressiveness with theatricality, keyboards always in the spotlight and shockingly predictable in their desperate attempt to create an epic atmosphere, and a rhythm section that shamelessly copies Genesis... in short, bands made from a mold that produce nothing interesting, except for the most conservative listeners...

masterpiece album...total trip
Oasis Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants

"Gas Panic" and "Roll it Over" are the highlights, the rest is quite forgettable... Liam Gallagher versatile? Well...
Kansas Leftoverture

I take back my comment from almost a year ago...5 stars don’t really suit this album; Kansas is a band I've definitely reassessed, just like ELP...too little substance and too much form...still remains valid entertainment.
Alfred Hitchcock Intrigo Internazionale

Gigantic film. One of the finest masterpieces by Alfred.
Jim Jarmusch Broken Flowers

Seen at the cinema, not bad, the problem is the too many dead spots... anyway, it makes it to a passing grade.
The Vines Highly Evolved

5 stars for this record?? Let's not kid ourselves, 5-star albums are elsewhere... "Highly Evolved," if we're being generous, can at most snag 2 stars, just for a couple of catchy tunes... 5 stars are reserved for "On the Beach" by Neil Young, "Rock Bottom" by Robert Wyatt, "Spiderland" by Slint, "Zeit" by Tangerine Dream, not for this half-baked hype machine...

Kosmo, calm down. Is there really a need to attack someone for no reason? "The same old story is getting boring"?? Who do you think you are?

@47: if you like Panopticon, the first ones I recommend if you don’t know them already are Red Sparowes with their albums "At the Soundless Dawn" and especially "Every Red Heart Shines Toward..."; or "THE FIRE IN OUR THROATS WILL BECKON THE THAW" by Pelican, or "Samus Octology" by Irepress. But there would be many others…

I also think that Burn the Sun by Ark is the best or one of the best examples of prog-metal, and I still enjoy it today, but I increasingly realize while listening to it that, like 90% of albums in this genre, it has the flaw of not striving for a personal reinterpretation of the languages and styles used, even though there is considerable eclecticism and excellent preparation. I’ll skip the childish discussion of always and forever dividing everything into technique and feeling as if they were the only elements that make up music, and furthermore reducing them to cold percentages...
