which is pure heresy, just having listened to them

Well, whether you like it or not is another matter, but giving it 5 stars means you consider it on par with "Rock Bottom" by Wyatt, "Third" by SM, "On the Beach" by Young, "Spiderland" by Slint, etc...

But on Debaser there's still no review of the great "Up on the Sun"? Anyway, I'll definitely give this a listen...

Alright, let’s talk about music... we are faced with the least useless album from a band that is nothing more than mediocre, being nothing but the usual pseudo-artists overrated by the sycophantic press like NME, which trends across the sea. They shamelessly and superficially copy some greats from the past without personally reworking a damn thing. In terms of originality, we are at an all-time low, and their reworking of ancient styles is equally poor; I get chills when I hear them compared to names like the Velvet Underground, please let’s not joke, let’s not confuse shit with chocolate. Just a couple of catchy songs reach a passing grade, allowing the album to earn a 2 out of 5. Giving this album 5 stars means just one thing: you have no idea whatsoever of the mountain of masterpieces that the history of rock has given us... in short, dear friends, listen and go seek out the true ARTISTS.

Listening to it for the umpteenth time and reading trickykid's last comment, I am convinced that 5 is the most appropriate rating, even though I consider harvest, on the beach, and after the gold rush to be slightly superior... let's say about the same level as "tonight's the night" and just a bit above zuma.

one of the cornerstones of thrash metal… even though I listen to this genre a lot less today, I recognize that it’s still a pleasurable experience, albeit more as entertainment than as artistic contemplation.

it doesn't say much to me, especially compared to what was being released at the time... they do their prog homework, but it feels more like a stylistic exercise...

The Marillion are the least useless of this movement, being the very architects of it; unfortunately, however, they don’t reach high levels for me either... and then, I repeat, they really get on my nerves because of the shapeless mass of bands that has, involuntarily, spawned from them... @green manalishi: Masquerade Overture, if you want to hear my opinion, is half a crap and is a glaring example of what I was saying in my previous post.
