The Korn, whether you like it or not, ARE a historic band, and I’ll repeat that I don’t like them, so I’m not the typical narrow-minded fan who defends them at all costs... if only for their self-titled debut album, full of malaise and suffering. Just to quote a gentleman named Scaruffi, who is anything but mainstream in his mindset, he says about the first album: "The record is one of those that saves heavy metal from stagnation." Therefore, that album, according to him and many other critics, makes Korn a historic band, regardless of how much they have compromised later on the commercial side.

CarlMarx, generally I think Korn are pretty terrible, but I don’t think they are objectively a zero-value band... at this point, we need to understand whether it’s more appropriate to give ratings solely based on personal tastes or to mediate them with considerations aimed at objectifying the intrinsic quality of an album. If I found Frank Zappa's "Uncle Meat" awful, for example, would it be more right to give it a score of 1 because I can’t stand it or 3 as a compromise between the album's importance and my tastes? Or maybe 5 for the objective significance of that album? I’m doubtful...

Sorry, if I tell you that Christina Aguilera is the queen of alternative-prog-metal you have to respect my opinion. You wouldn’t challenge my view...

Well, if we hide behind the SUBJECTIVE at all costs, then everything is permissible... if someone comes here and says, "For me, Cristina D'avena is one of the sacred monsters in Brutal Death Metal," do I have to respect their opinion, or can I criticize them with some argument?

The RATM and TOOL are sacred monsters and I adore them too (especially the latter)... but let’s not mix them with the scum of Nu-Metal, please, as they really don’t belong there; Papa Roach and Drowning Pool, on the other hand, are light years below the already terribly low quality average of Nu-Metal, just useless abominations... anyway, tastes are tastes...

Which groups? From Nu-Metal, as a shapeless melting pot of every nonsense remotely linked to a vaguely metal sound, very little is saved... just some of the early Deftones and not much else... Can you tell me which groups you’re referring to so I can listen to them?

Well, since everyone has their own personal judgment, is it prohibited to exchange opinions about it? Heaven forbid someone makes you reevaluate your ideas, right? Now, to get to the point, I completely disagree with what you say about pop. There is wonderfully crafted pop, for example, Built to Spill, just to name one, while there is also shoddy pop. As for Korn, I don’t think the early albums should be lumped together with Linkin Park and other trash. In fact, I believe that labeling them as Nu-Metal is a stretch in this case.

I’m not interested in arguing, just in critiquing what, in my opinion, is a hasty judgment, "Metal da Ipermercato," when it is stated that Madonna is good in her genre... which raises doubts in me about what the standards are for being considered good in the genre of Korn, assuming it can be defined as a genre. If you don't want to discuss anything, I understand and will avoid speaking to you in the future. Best regards.

It's easy to respond like this, huh... I'd like to know what bullshit I've said, but hey, don't exert yourself too much or you'll tire yourself out.
