No, I’m not anti-metal at all; I listen to quite a few metal artists, but I don't focus exclusively on one genre, no matter how fascinating it may be. Why do you consider me anti-metal? I may not be a hardcore fan, but I appreciate Isis, Kayo Dot, Opeth, Pelican, and many others, including the classic bands I listened to as a chick =)

Avant-garde? It seems to me like ambient-world music with electronic watercolor decorations, great trumpet improvisations, and evocative jungle settings—pretty enjoyable overall. Maybe you need to approach the album in a simpler way and without thinking "oh my god, now I'm listening to pure avant-garde"...

Anyway, I really don't think Scaruffi has hit the mark with anything other than Jon Hassell. Thanks to Piero, I've discovered artists who are now among my favorites, and he has often provided me with excellent insights for interpreting them.
