Yo La Tengo And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out

There are truly remarkable and evocative episodes, but also several somewhat repetitive parts that convince me less... perhaps it takes many more listens to understand its actual value. "Night Falls on Hoboken" is stunning. For now, 4 abundant stars. Great review: wow, it's already been 4 years!

Holy shit! 13 REVIEWS!!! There are 13 reviews for this album!! I can even tolerate one or at most 2 duplicates. But damn, 13!! No no... at this point, I would propose to the editors to carry out an operation: when the reviews for an album exceed 5, they should select the best 5 (and I’m being generous) based on the ratings and eliminate the rest, otherwise out of the nearly 20,000 reviews on the site, half will end up being duplicates...

Historical record. For me, Tool, alongside Primus and a few others, are among the most unclassifiable bands of the '90s. The fact that they have been mainstreamed doesn’t strike me as a flaw, as I strictly focus on the musical quality, which is undoubtedly present, even if with "10,000 Days" the trajectory is objectively in freefall... My rating would be 4.5, but I round up due to the scarcity of similar albums both then and now, which you have to search for with a lantern. Good review, although in reality '96 isn't exactly a golden era for rock...

As post-rock groups in addition to those already mentioned, I also recommend: Bark Psychosis, Labradford, Tarentel, and Yume Bitsu.

My heartfelt congratulations, Paloz! I read the review while re-listening to the first track of this stunning album, and I must say your words are spot on with the sounds. A sweet and refined post-apocalyptic despair.

Well, if that’s the case, they also awarded an honorary degree to Mr. micambiolaresidenzaalondracosìevado milioniditasse Valentino Rossi. But then you just need to read the reason for the degree conferred by the University of Teramo to understand that the person who wrote it is a total incompetent in the musical and artistic field. They gave it to him for publicity. But what communicative work?? "you're already inside the happy hour, living costs half" oh yes, damn what expressive genius! And I’m limiting myself to the lyrics because if I had to talk about the music, it would require a veil of pity. But please!

@clako: Ligabue is an artist just like Cicciolina is a nun.

Chinaski, when I compared Dinosaur and Zappa, I did it provocatively precisely because they are artists at opposite ends. And then come on... am I wrong or are you calling Lux ignorant? Which he is not musically at all. Just because he mentioned "You're living," do you think he only knows that album? What a ridiculous presumption to cite these albums! I bet my ass that you haven’t really understood them or that you’ll ever grasp "Bitches Brew" or "The Black Saint...," assuming you’ve even listened to them. Anyway, it’s a given that Dinosaur Jr. are in the pantheon of Indie, and thousands of bands (including the After) owe them the proper recognition. Personally, I consider "You’re living..." to be of great value, and while it comes from totally different contexts, I can compare it to many great masterpieces in history, because its expressiveness is indisputable.

Oh yes... love... such an absolutely original topic to tackle... it seems only right to build a career on it, since no one has ever done that before. But then, at least do it in a way that's less clichéd and paternalistic... for crying out loud! The typical worldly man who tells you what's important and what's not, how you should behave and what is beautiful or not. Please, there are plenty of idiots like him in Correggio or all over Italy hanging out at cafés, showing off with young girls! This one just happened to get lucky by hitting four chords and writing populist lyrics, plus he found a bunch of incompetent fools to promote him. Oh, but how profound Ligabue is!! A true artist!! He even thinks he’s a director! And a writer too! Oh yes, a complete artist. And there are millions of people convinced of it. How disgusting.
