Dirty Beaches Drifters / Love Is The Devil

Alarm disc! The most interesting and original album I've heard this year, experimental ambient with industrial-cyberpunk undertones, all immersed in a strange and reverberated atmosphere... the cover suggests the mood evoked by this music, alienation... as if staggering through some dark nightclub in any European metropolis, struck by the trails of artificial lights and fragments of faces, the smell of sweat, under the influence of alcohol... then, with the brain still vibrating from the deafening music, wandering through the sleeping, desolate city, and finally, tired, along the river, as the first lights of dawn begin to break the spell.
Pearl Jam Lightning Bolt

I enjoyed Pearl Jam up to and including "Binaural," then just a couple of tracks from "Riot Act" and that’s it. Now, on the verge of 50, they continue to play a conventional rock that honestly has lost all the sweat, anger, passion, and poetry of the '90s. If they need to keep making albums as mundane craftsmen to secure their lifestyle, they can do that, but they shouldn't expect me to listen.

I love you Ciarrapico! I love you for issuing worthless checks! I love you for obscene publications, this is love! He has given love to us and we give it back to him! I love you!! I love you Ciarrapico! Like Jim Morrison!! Like Jim Morrison!!! Like Jim Morrison!!!
Alfred Hitchcock Nodo Alla Gola

a little gem from Hitchcock, grand tension...with "Dial M for Murder" the refinement of this type of "single-location" thriller will arrive
Janis Joplin I Got Dem Ol' Kozmic Blues Again Mama!
Voto:
A tremendous cover album (except for the stunning "Kozmic Blues"), passionately interpreted by the unstoppable Janis... "Try," "Maybe," and "Little Girl Blue" are the standout moments. She is often grouped with Morrison and Hendrix because they all died around the same time and at the same age; however, I believe that of the three, Janis still had so much to give, while Hendrix and the Doors had already delivered the bulk of their masterpieces. The fact remains that losing all three of them within a few months was a devastating blow.

Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds The Firstborn Is Dead

"Blind Lemon Jefferson" has a terrifying text and interpretation, a dark, leaden, and heart-wrenching blues; excellent review!
Frank Zappa Imaginary Diseases
Voto:
extraordinary guitar performance by Uncle Frank in "DC Boogie," an epic solo and a democratically boogie ending :)
Queens Of The Stone Age ...Like Clockwork

a good album, with many interesting ideas and a couple of remarkable tracks, attempting to change musical direction... majestic is the title track that closes the album, still falling behind SFTD but comfortably fits in the best of 2013.
