There were 10 reviews of this album; was an eleventh necessary? Well... Anyway, it’s very well written, to be fair... beautiful imagery... the album is the best from RH in my opinion, and as I’ve already said somewhere, it’s an excellent work, especially in terms of sound, but nothing extremely innovative or that makes you shout miracle like some masterpiece...

Yes, I’m in love with him! Any problem? :D Jokes aside, we often find common ground and I find myself defending what he says because basically we have similar ideas about music.

Alfredo, you said: "I don't remember a comment of yours where you just rave about the music that comes to your ears, and in a subjective way. Maybe saying something like 'I like it!' without the usual discussions about importance, originality, and so on." I don't agree, because: first, one can get excited about the originality and the powerful language of an album; it doesn't mean that personal tastes shouldn't be based on artistic evaluations; second, one on Debaser can choose to say whatever they want, and if they prefer to discuss the objective aspects of historical importance and creativity of albums, I don't see anything wrong with that. In fact, I wish there were more people sharing their opinions on the subject, rather than just limiting themselves to saying, "Wow, this album is cool!"

Alfredo, I believe that each album requires a different approach. There is pure entertainment, closely tied to each person's personal tastes, and then there is the appreciation of a work from an artistic point of view... If I listen to a beautiful album by Nick Drake, just to make an example, it's obvious that I will have a different approach compared to when I listen to Van Halen, don’t you think? In Van Halen's albums, you can find only good rock 'n' roll that serves its purpose for pure entertainment just fine; but artistically, I will definitely be more taken by a work of Drake, John Martyn, or Wyatt... and in both cases, the listening experience is enjoyable but on evidently distinct levels: that of entertainment and that of art.

Alexander didn't mean that this always happens! It depends on the quality of the music and, to a lesser extent, the lyrics... otherwise even the melody of Fivelandia would elevate the lyrics of Cristina D'Avena!

In my opinion, Radiohead is a band that is both overrated and underrated at the same time. Overrated by millions of idiotic fans (not all of them) who are convinced they are the pinnacle of alternative music, experimentation, psychedelia, etc... underestimated by just as many people who despise them regardless of their popularity with the general public and judge their albums as trash without even listening to them. In this case, "in medio stat virtus," meaning, in my opinion, 2-3 good albums with excellent solutions and sound ideas, but no exceptional masterpiece worth tearing one’s hair out over...
