After the third track, I can say that the beginning is quite good; I will vote at the end of the listening.

ICNARF@: I want to say that I see a string of 1s on the record, and I don’t know why but my intuition suggests to me that barely 20% of those people have listened to the album...optimistically speaking, of course. Regarding the band, I repeat that I agree they sound a bit too "Metallica," they overrate themselves and the press helps them, but in my personal opinion, they have the talent, they know how to play and they play well. As for the melodic riffs, well, that’s a merchandising issue; to be honest, 3/4 of Kill Em All is highly catchy for ears accustomed to Metal. Nevertheless, these are personal opinions; the only courtesy I ask is to evaluate the record only after at least a couple of listens.

Honest review, regarding the album I mostly agree with you and Grant; Just To Get High, Something In Your Mouth, and If Today Was Your Last Day are three great tracks, while the rest consists of a couple of listenable songs and a lot of mediocrity. However, I don't consider "All The Right Reasons" their best work; certainly one of the most commercially successful, but "Silver Side Up" is a couple of steps above in my opinion.

Frankly, I can't understand this "pseudo anti-trivium campaign." The band knows how to play, and there should be no doubt about that. As for originality, well, that can be debated, but in my opinion, they remain a good band with 2 out of their 4 albums being of good quality.

The only album of theirs I've listened to is Teata Na Gael or something like that from '96, a mediocre record.

I go against the grain and rate 4 Shogun; it’s excessive, but given all the 1s out there, it fits in just fine… for me, it’s a decent album with a 7, a step back from the last "The Crusade". Nothing exceptional, mind you, but nonetheless, in a time when crap is abundant (I could drop some big names still believing they make music), this is a commendable CD. A sparse and mediocre review that doesn’t correspond to a 3 rating but rather a 1/2.
