Really a "particular" album.

Good review, very deep maybe slightly verbose when talking about the past, but that's okay. "Liar for the liars" overall gets my approval, I haven't listened to this, but I don't believe it’s worth even half of "Start Something" that you mentioned! Anyway, I will listen to it.

Thank you! Well, definitely the first "Facelift" by Alice In Chains is spectacular, but in my opinion, "Godsmack" is a bit more Metal and less grunge; we’re not talking about a copycat band here.

Great question... so they really have nothing to do with nu metal, in the sense that there are no rap brackets (except for a few timid hints in the later album "Awake"), but the heavy guitar/melodic chorus formula is what brings them closer to "nu"; also, there's not a lot of grunge either, in the sense that yes, there are many references to Alice in Chains, but not considering the latter as brazenly grunge, I find Godsmack quite distant from that same movement... I mainly associate them with alternative rock and alternative metal in the heavier tracks (check out songs like "Sick of Life" or "Straight Out of Line," both of which are not part of this album)... anyway, this is definitely an album to listen to.

For me simply exceptional, for others a little less so, listen to the album "Faceless" as a test of the 9.

Months later, I'm reassessing the album; for me, it scores a solid 4 out of 5, even though it won't average out... it's true that there's little Metal, it feels much more appealing as a CD, yet it still captivates. We'll see with the return of the 4 di Boston, which should be at the end of 2009, or at least I hope so.

I wouldn't know, "Chuck" feels like a desperate attempt to be different, but since it didn't pay off, they've returned to their roots with "underclass hero," which I honestly find really mediocre. They’ve messed it all up with their own hands; they’ve really annoyed me over the years.

Good job, trout, you've managed to combine nu-metal with nu-shit... the specimen is developing an ironic sense, applause-worthy.
