The fact is that I would like to make it clear to those who haven't had the pleasure of listening to a record what it truly is, not just my feelings. For my reviews on Kansas and Gleemen, groups that few know, and definitely much less famous than the other bands I've reviewed, I thought a more descriptive and less subjective review would be more appropriate... However, it's not about being pedantic but about completeness... if I know something, I say it :-))

Dear ocram, you have no idea how disrespectful it can be for a passionate aficionado of good music like me to see so many praises for insignificant bands while essential groups like Soft Machine or Kansas are ignored (and some have even dared to criticize them!).

Well dear zaireeka, regarding music in the technical sense, I can answer you on very few things since I am not a musician but just an enthusiast. As for the rest, what do you mean? Regarding the placement of the Soft Machine between Zappa and Monk, well, that is a fixed point in the general criticism; the psychodada vein of Wyatt opposed to the Davisian jazz of Ratledge is something admitted by Wyatt himself... As for the rest, I haven't relied on any encyclopedia.
