@marco: I meant to say, thank you for putting me next to Hendrix.--- @Everyone: I DON'T KNOW HOW TO PLAY THE GUITAR AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND A DAMN THING ABOUT IT, I SIMPLY BELIEVE THAT IN TERMS OF SKILL COMBINED WITH TECHNIQUE, SPEED, AND CLARITY, PETRUCCI SEEMS TO BE THE BEST TODAY. AS FOR THE SENSATIONS HE GIVES ME, ON THE OTHER HAND, MY NAMESAKE HAS NO COMPARISON!!!!!

A record like this will never fall into oblivion. We owe prog-metal to Rush primarily, then to Queensryche, and finally to Fates Warning. Hooray for good music. Hooray for the reviewer johnp(etrucci?)83!

I have listened to almost everything by Petrucci, and in Dream Theater he doesn’t use his technique to the fullest, as it would go against that project. In various demos, bootlegs, and collaborations, he has seemed excellent to me. I will listen to the others more carefully, although I doubt it :-)

In my opinion, Romeo and Gilbert are no better than Petrucci. Vai is great, but he doesn’t seem to hold up to the comparison either. I’ve heard little about the others; I will look into it more and let you know.
