No mistake: I never said that technique is everything. The attempt to bring rock back to its original essence is, in my opinion, futile and poorly executed. There are only a few rare cases that stand out (XTC, Husker Du, The Replacements, and a few others I can think of), but the genre is lackluster in my view. Now, please, can we return to the voice of ALLEN?
