@donjunio: sorry, but I didn't understand what you mean by >>>It's no coincidence that it didn't have a sequel<<<.

The previous post was also about easycure, in case it wasn't clear. And I add: then you say >>>>the abilities and the intent probably leave no room for anything else.<<<< Okay, we could discuss the intent, given that they have played hundreds of gigs over the years, and therefore setlists that could be questionable (but you should explain better what you mean by "questionable" and also which are the 4 classics and/or singles mentioned above), it is possible that some questionable choices have been made. This concerning the intent. But about the abilities? How can you say that? I already admitted that Mason likely made some mistakes, but how can you criticize the abilities of Wright and Gilmour? I remind you that in August 2006, when these two were 12 years older, I was fortunate enough to appreciate them live in 3 incredible hours of concert, much of it in the rain, during which they masterfully performed a piece like Echoes, over 22 minutes long, and even though the song was performed in a way that was totally disconnected from its usual context (which in our imagination could be Pompeii or maybe the landscapes described in the lyrics), it was astonishingly captivating (a five-star charm for sure), demonstrating precisely that ability which you instead struggle to acknowledge in these "old guys" (a full 12 years earlier). Finally, if you don’t appreciate any of the tracks I mentioned in these two posts, live or studio, except for the two you already said you liked, I can only invite you to listen to them again carefully.

My tendency to evaluate the executive aspect might be called Floydian, not Dream Theaterian. Okay, let's drop the discussion about the lights since it doesn't concern the musical aspect that we would like to consider, especially on sites like this. I agree on "One of these days"; it could have been avoided. The tackiness, bad taste, and sugary backup singers are your subjective opinions; what should I tell you if not "de gustibus"? The usual four singles and the usual four classics, I don't know what those are; if you tell me, I can respond. And then, aside from Run Like Hell and One of these days, you seem to imply that the rest is the least significant work they've done. Are we joking? Everything from The Dark Side of the Moon, Comfortably Numb, Astronomy Domine, and Shine On You Crazy Diamond would be the least significant work they've done? Do you really mean that??? If you think so, there's no point in continuing, obviously. And with all due respect for the Gong.

Silence? I don't think so, you've been talking and you've said something funny.

Bah...I really don’t think so... the banality of the albums as a whole is greater in The Final Cut. I’ve already expressed my thoughts on the banality of the tracks in question. The preparation time for the Floyd's albums was pretty much the same, and that wouldn’t mean anything; some ideas can come to you in 5 minutes, others in 3 years.

The musical parts in Paranoid Eyes, Get Your Filthy, Southampton Dock, and Two Suns in the Sunset are, in my opinion, trivial, and especially if you listen carefully to the lyrics and the nuances of Waters' voice, they are not boring at all.

I've listened to all their albums properly, especially those of the Floyd. The banal in Final Cut is scarce and at times also noticeable in The Wall. The songs you mention, however, don't seem banal at all to me, especially Welcome to the Machine. It would be like finding a flaw in the egg and magnifying it.

I wouldn't start analyzing the work of Porcupine Tree because it's not easy, but it's clear that they have an edge..let's hold on to them tightly!

Yes, Jim, in The Final Cut, A Momentary Lapse, and Division Bell there is also something trivial, but never to the extent you say. I have never denied this.
