The Mothers Of Invention Freak Out!

But how strange... out of 11,000 reviews, there wasn't a single one for the first album of the greatest musical genius of the late twentieth century... strange!

But indeed, they spared themselves!!!

They don't matter at all! We're talking about a live concert, here the played music counts, knowing how to play and sing! And in this, Gilmour is clearly superior to Waters!

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, WE ARE FACING A GREAT ALBUM FROM ONE OF THE GREATEST BANDS IN HISTORY WITH ONE OF THE GREATEST KEYBOARDISTS IN HISTORY: THE CRAZY GENIUS KEITH EMERSON... AND SO, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN... CHAPEAU!

@embryo: to perform live, you need to be good musicians, and it's clear that Gilmour is much better than Waters. As a composer, however, Waters is superior to Gilmour. I'm fine with him doing Money, but he should at least sing it!

Even these are only known by name… the cover is fantastic to say the least.

Mmm..I've heard of them by name..but so they belong to the Canterbury scene? And do you find them inferior to the Soft Machine post-Wyatt? Interesting...

In his latest performances, I find him somewhat delirious with omnipotence, as could already be noticed in the mediocre The Wall live of '90 with Bryan Adams, Cindy Lauper, and various others. Some of the songs would have no reason to be listened to without Gilmour's guitar and voice. "Money," if I remember correctly, he doesn't even sing it himself; who knows who he gets to sing it. Very exhibitionist and, in my opinion, not very emotionally engaging. He should return to lyrics and soundtracks and leave the music to the musicians.
The Residents Meet The Residents

Alright ajeje. I can only say that for me the Faust are something entirely different (if "thickness" doesn't work), and I can say that I just can't make myself enjoy the residents unlike the Faust, the Can, the Neu, Zappa, and Beefheart (whom you mentioned first). You define them as too cerebral: more cerebral than anyone else? If that's the case, then it's possible that I just haven't grasped them yet, anyway I will try to listen to the band you mentioned.
