Well, mementomori, I don’t think we can talk about a compositional weakness... undoubtedly there has been a drop, but I don’t recall hearing useless riffs and banal choruses, and I don’t find it appropriate to make a comparison to that Fates Warning album (which I think is fantastic), and in any case, I wouldn’t take it negatively. As for the social themes, I also don’t think it is fair to define them as a flaw; obviously, they had gotten us used to more introspective lyrics, but here there has been a shift, and whether one likes it or not, I think it’s successful. I’m not shouting masterpiece either, to be clear, but for me it’s truly a good album, and it certainly wouldn’t be so if we were to consider your statements, as I understand. I don’t understand, however, what kind of osmosis you are referring to regarding Opeth.

They are back. The best band around (for years now) presents an excellent album, not quite at their old levels but still beautiful and better than Deadwing. The suite is nice, "Sentimental" is gorgeous, a bit less so the last track. I've probably listened to it about ten times already. I was preparing a review too (grrr), you beat me to it, and you did well! For 2007, this is undoubtedly a 5-star album, no doubt about it!

I like Moretti, but I never wanted to watch this film because it would make me too sad.

The attack on Nevskji is due to my disdain for a band that is worth little or nothing, and more generally for a genre that he loves instead. Why make it a personal issue? Who knows.. @cptgaio: yes, I know, you say there are worse things in Italy, but there are also better ones.. I wonder: why settle for less?
