but it's not about idolizing... just being objective.. in the '90s music in general was poor, and Porcupine Tree are among the few exceptions, along with Opeth and a handful of others.. is that enough to say they are among the greatest of all time? In my opinion yes, even if they are not among my favorites :-D

It's one of the best albums of the '90s, but there's never been anything comparable to The Piper...never :-D

But on what basis, Lux? You say it's just a little… aside from the fact that there is no way or reason for comparison, know that for me the difference is vast, not just a little bit... however, I believe and think that from the '90s onwards, Porcupine Tree are the greatest… but they wouldn’t exist without Pink Floyd, just as Radiohead, Sigur Rós, and many of today's celebrated bands wouldn’t exist, some justifiably, some unjustifiably.
