Behold... The Arctopus Nano-Nucleonic Cyborg Summoning
Voto:
The extreme is just like that, you either like it or you don't, there aren't many shades of grey (otherwise it wouldn't be called extreme...). In any case, to understand and truly appreciate bands of this type, you need to get into their musical logic, understand what they want to convey to us, putting aside all our preconceived ideas (it's not a criticism towards you, Emanuele, quite the opposite)... In albums like this, it’s the whole that astonishes, and frankly, I find bands like Behold blabla to be much more cohesive than, for example, Dream Theater, where everyone is really off doing their own thing, making you want to drop your balls on the floor; Behold puts their overflowing technique to the service of music that has a purpose: to fry your brain! And frankly, giving this album just a measly one is truly unfair, there’s much worse out there...
Ulver Silence Teaches You How to Sing EP
Voto:
I wouldn't know exactly what grade to give to this work either; it’s one of the most unique albums Ulver have ever done, in my opinion. However, my favorite will always remain Perdition City (unless they come out with another one that matches its level... with Ulver, you never know what to expect). Emanuele, is this your favorite?
Hate Eternal I, Monarch
Voto:
A group of great musicians and people with guts, but it’s nothing original or transcendent: a classic album for a classic band (which frankly carries on thanks to the popularity of its leader). When the new Morbid Angel comes out next year, let’s just say that Hate Eternal will have to step aside…

AA.VV. What the Bleep Do We Know!?

Reading your review, I was reminded of Zeitgeist, even though the latter essentially deals with Christianity in a strongly critical manner and how it has influenced our societies and a certain worldview from ancient times to the present day... It’s a bit difficult to explain in words as the topic is very broad and complex; I encourage you and all other users to take a look at this very particular documentary, which is extremely well-made and illuminating.

Sickening Horror When Landscapes Bled Backwards

Simply magnificent, in my opinion one of the most interesting extreme albums of this year, composed with intelligence and the right technique without being an end in itself. I'm pleased that the review highlights the work of the entire group, without mentioning Kollias in every paragraph (as I've read in many other reviews)... well done.

Great proposal, congratulations! By the way, I don’t know if you’ve seen the docu-film Zeitgeist...
