Pat Metheny Day Trip
Voto:
Right now, I was re-listening to the live Parallel Realities where among the greats there's also him... I need to get Day Trip as soon as possible, and your review only increases this desire.

mmmm....I still have to listen to it, but your review doesn't bode well; however, it's excellent as always. I don't agree with the first paragraph though: in my opinion, 2007 was an interesting year for extreme albums ;)

Down III: Over The Under

Sorry, but where do you hear all this vocal extension of Filippo in the Down?
Down III: Over The Under
Voto:
The album is terrifying, much heavier and more stoner than the first two in my opinion (and much more compact too). Phil, as of now, doesn't have that incredibly badass and furious voice he had in the golden days with Pantera; I think you can really hear it in Over the Under (the vocals are quite affected and supported by double voices in many parts)... but for what Down does, it fits perfectly! Phil has ALWAYS known how to sing throughout his career; he wasn't a screeching monkey like so many others; the comparison with Cornell doesn't stand in my opinion: two worlds that are quite distant from each other.
