In fact, I understand that it might have come across as annoying and a bit snobbish for a sporadic comment from someone who always remained external... and therefore, vain.. SATISFIED!
Nirvana Nevermind
Voto:
Nevermind, in my opinion, is a great album. I DON’T care if Cobain didn’t like the arrangement and the sound provided by the production: the artist is merely the vehicle of the music, not its judge; it’s up to the attentive and knowledgeable listener (in short, someone with a broad understanding of music and its history) to evaluate it. While it’s certainly true that a musician is often their own first listener, many rock musicians frequently lack that broad musical knowledge: they barely know their genre and sometimes the technique. If it is true that Nevermind is far more important from a social perspective as it brought many groups and a sound previously considered niche into the limelight, we cannot deny it the credit of having reinterpreted grunge, finding a simultaneously sad-melodic and energetic key of interpretation that will serve as a benchmark for the genre. For this very reason, as a fan of Nirvana, I tell you that Nevermind is their only album that rises to the rank of a cornerstone in rock history, steering clear of the extremes of glorifying all the valid output of Nirvana and the often unwarranted attacks on a character and a genre that have then been overly exploited by the market.
