I can understand Sallu, who SEEMS to be saying contradictions about the album (he gives it a 5 and then says <<the arrangements are too baroque, with effects and scales repeated...>>): of course, he should have expressed himself better, but in my opinion, he’s not entirely wrong because this album, a masterpiece for its MAGIC-REFINEMENT-POWER, isn’t fully enjoyed if listened to TOO MUCH because it’s very very [explosively] NOISE. Some people, a bit skewed in their thinking, believe it to be an unnecessarily pretentious album just because it tries to blend the power of live concerts with a magical, evocative, and refined atmosphere... It has different interpretations... so what?

AS YOU ARE STRICT IN JUDGMENT... it is so because you believe this modern (in my opinion, exaggerated in this case) concern about the originality of recent rock phenomena (Vines, Strokes, B.R.M.C., etc.) is legitimate. In fact, Highly Evolved has the atmosphere of the great seasons of rock and grunge, but a style that does not copy but rather continues the past.

I myself, who wrote the review, think that four is somewhat an insult to true masterpieces... but unfortunately, 3 and 1/2 is not available, so between 3 and 4, I chose 4 for the simple reason that it seemed unfair to give a 3 to a band that, in my opinion, wrote a masterpiece with their debut (Highly evolved).

But how can you think that "I don't like the drugs" is a tacky song??? It’s SO ORIGINAL, with its captivating atmosphere (throughout the whole album), the mind-blowing guitars, and the brilliant addition of the badass female backing singers at the end of the song.............not to mention the video, which enhances the song even more...

BUT HOW CAN YOU NOT REALIZE THAT THE SIMILARITIES BETWEEN Ain't no room, Ride, Dive (by Nirvana) ARE ONLY FORMAL, not to mention the attitude… Highly Evolved was an album with an autumnal atmosphere, this one is spring-like… and Dive is more powerful rock… come on… but if you meant to say that the Vines don’t write very complex songs, you’re right (and even in the previous album it didn’t really seem like it… what do you think?)
