Weather Report Night Passage
Voto:
for me this is simply the best of the no. 1! And I won't add anything else, except for a heartfelt thought for the late Zawinul, Pastorius, and Dom Um Romão, the acrobatic percussionist of the early Weather.
Weather Report I Sing The Body Electric
Voto:
The first 3 Weather Reports, that is the debut, this album, and Sweetnighter, I find still a bit "experimental" and somewhat distant from my personal taste... from "mysterious"... the Weather Reports have always managed to move me, right up to the masterpieces Heavy Weather and Night Passage.
Bill Bruford Feels Good To Me
Voto:
I know Cobham's Spectrum by heart.... surely it's a great album, but it seems to me that in Bruford's work there is more musical exploration, while Cobham seems a bit more concerned with showcasing his undeniable virtuosity.....

Absolutely sumptuous album... Bruford is a great musician, and not just a drummer... and that Dave Stewart remains one of my all-time favorite keyboardists! How can you give less than 5??
Al Di Meola Elegant Gipsy
Voto:
Beautiful and passionate review... fusion will never die, at least as long as it's fueled by people like Di Meola, Metheny, and Corea, just to throw out three random names. I also listened to Di Meola about fifteen years ago in a small theater in Sestri Ponente, near Genoa. He is amazing, but I remember being struck by the inhuman technique of a little Japanese monster on keyboards, named Kei Akagi... incredibly fast two-handed unison solos... stuff that makes you faint. Great concert, the album is very refined, but Al with Return to Forever (recently reformed with the legendary lineup of Romantic Warrior!!) is, if possible, even better!
Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band XXL
Voto:
...the review piqued my interest...I found it, listened to it,...and I have no regrets! A splendid example of big band swing, in the style of Stan Kenton or Buddy Rich, Mozart's symphony arranged (a rare thing!!) with great taste, refined atmospheres, and fantastic cohesion. Thanks to the reviewer, and congratulations to Mr. Goodwin!
Chick Corea The Ultimate Adventure - Live in Barcelona
Voto:
...great album...excellent review...personally, I prefer other works by Corea...for example that "Romantic Warrior" with Return, which I consider a true masterpiece and a milestone of fusion...by the way...I see it hasn't been reviewed...if it helps, I might talk about it a bit myself, since I love it...how do those who know it judge it?
Van Der Graaf Generator Godbluff

finally a positive review of an album that I believe has been underrated for too long (well... after "Pawn Hearts"...), but in my opinion is absolutely splendid. Scorched Earth remains one of my VDGG favourites!

Well... probably Vangelis' most substantial earnings come from Barilla... that doesn’t diminish for me the value of albums like Heaven and Hell, Albedo, Direct, and Mask. He may not be an absolute genius in the history of music, but this guy definitely knows his way around the keyboards, and he also has a good melodic flair... even Barilla has noticed!

Here it is...the usual mistake at 5 PM...I mix up the reviews and the albums...three for them and four for Velvet...
