What a mess! And how nice it is to see discussions about Tim and Jeff again... A comparison isn't really possible, not even on a vocal level. Tim wins hands down; he’s got an octave more, if I remember correctly, not half an octave. You can't compare the careers of the two. Tim also wins hands down here. Nine albums in eight years, an evolution rarely found in other artists, a continuous search—his first at 19, "Tim Buckley," the second already a masterpiece "Goodbye and Hello," with the following albums trying to catch up. "Lorca" is pure genius, "Starsailor" is the apotheosis. You can't compare Jeff's musical proposal and say it was more varied. "Grace" is a great album, but has anyone told you that if you take away Jeff's emotive voice, little remains? True. Everything was built around his voice. While with Tim, you have to account for the genius of every single musician, and then you have to add another "instrument" on top—his voice as an added value and apotheosis. Jeff comes across as much more immediate and easy to listen to, whereas with Tim, you have to dig, consume, and grasp its thousand nuances, both vocally and instrumentally, and slowly you'll find yourself saying, "Damn, genius! Absolutely genius!" For Buckley Jr., it doesn’t work that way; you’ll never say "Genius," it’s emotional, beautiful, but never genius. The most famous song by Buckley Jr. is a cover... Buckley struggled to complete his second album; he wasn’t satisfied with it, and if it were up to him, he would have postponed its release, and then it ended up as everyone knows. In fact, Jeff had lost his compositional inspiration and was wandering around under a pseudonym on tour trying to find himself (musically). Two albums, one EP, and a thousand posthumous scraping of the barrel. Jeff had monstrous control over his falsetto; he knew how to perfectly measure his voice, but he never sought its pure essence, never pushed "beyond," never seriously attempted to capture all its nuances, transform them into "genius" ideas (the potential was certainly there) and put them on record. For all these reasons, Buckley Sr. passed away at 28 with a MONUMENTAL and GENIUS discography behind him, while Jeff had two good albums and an EP. I’m not diminishing the son, heavens no, I love them both, but the comparison just isn’t feasible. I hope I made myself clear! Aloha...

I only heard the single, and this Time on your recommendation. Yeah, and not maybe, you’re exaggerating.. It really wasn’t necessary anyway.. No no.. Better the Alter Bridge.

Travaglio is not the god of journalism in Italy; he is just someone who has a lot of visibility and who carries on his anti-B battle based on real facts and court rulings. He tells only what Mr. B has done and reports on the trials he is accused of, those for which he has been CONDEMNED, and those for which he has been ACQUITTED WITH DOUBTFUL FORMULA. It could very well be another journalist; it wouldn’t change a damn thing, as long as it is known how things really are. This is what it means to do opposition. If it weren't for various Travaglio and the like, we wouldn't know a damned thing, dear Franci. (I like it when you want to be the contrarian at all costs; you almost seem cool).

I mean, you want me to believe that nothing has changed since 18 & Life and I Remember You? Hell no, praise and glory to Bach! Beautiful and heartfelt review, in G Style. In the end, you sent it.. I was waiting for it and was curious to see how Sebastiano had managed. (He’s not exactly the same physically, you know.. Back in the Skid Row days, he was a real hottie, your friends Lukin were right, even though really, both before and after, he remains a Truzzo Sull'Adda).

"I believe that Jeff definitely has a more complete and inspired musical proposal. ".. But also no!

@FEDEZAN76: This was also my first Tim album, following what I had already listened to from Jeff. I was stunned. I completely understand your reaction. I can tell you that... It takes time to understand... But if you persevere, you will understand...

Christmas in Beverly Hills... I feel like quoting Mariaelena with blood! Prefab Sprout is amazing! A little 80's never hurts... Like Farina, I too place Tears For Fears on the highest step of the podium.

He never said anything to me, when others were gushing in the distant 80s with "Quando Potrò Gustare l'Avocado?" playing in the background. Or when they were singing "E Tu" around the campfire on a cheesy Christian mountain vacation, I wondered: Is all of this really necessary? It seemed to them that it was.. I was much more intrigued by the sweatshirt of a guy with a horned train on it and a phrase I didn't understand at the time: Motorhead.. After a while, I began to understand.. And I found an answer to that previous question.. But also no! man: Italian music, if it was dead before, with these commercial bullshit operations it is buried kilometers underground.
