The Who Quadrophenia

Not the best thing by The Who, though worthy. The album is based on four or five important melodic insights, no more, that resurface various times in different but similar songs. Typical of an opera, of course. I've never been convinced by the sound: too pompous, inflated with synthesizers too much in the foreground. Whereas in Who's Next they were delightfully in the background and doing more interesting things than simulating strings and brass. I've never really connected with Tommy either, verbose and with too much acoustic guitar, a little skeletal, exactly the opposite of Quadrophenia. Perfection lies in Who's Next.

Rod Stewart in a skirt.
The album features alternating tracks that are almost electropop (including BDE), the most interesting ones, and more traditional pop-rock-country-soul-roots pieces, which are more anonymous.
A must-have album.

Voto:

Yes have little depth in the lows by intrinsic characteristic. Squire's Rickembacher is more of a baritone guitar, Howe's jazz guitars have no lows. Singers Anderson and Squire are both tenors. Bruford's drum shell is dry, small.

Sepultura Revolusongs

Egyptian evening with the Sarcofago opening for Sepultura. In the break between the two groups, "Pyramid" by the Alan Parsons Project is played at full volume.
