Vanden Plas The Ghost Xperiment (Awakening)
Voto:
Intelligent review.
I like Vanden more than Dream Theater, for sure.
They have a much better singer, for starters.
And they're much less showy.
Finally, they don’t copy classic pages from their heroes here and there.
Serious, coherent, and productive, but almost never brilliant. Just like good Germans.
I will listen, I will buy.
Tears for Fears Tears Roll Down: Greatest Hits 82-92
Voto:
I love them in a visceral way.
The compositions, the arrangements, Roland's powerful voice.
The best of '80s pop, alongside Prefab Sprout, Howard Jones, Hall & Oates, Thompson Twins, Cutting Crew, Level 42, Mr. Mister, Propaganda, and Talk Talk.
Gentle Giant Three Friends
Voto:
My favorite from The Giant.
The smoothest one, too (aside from the three at the end of their career, influenced by a clearly idiosyncratic quest for pop).
I don’t believe, for instance, that the blues rock riff in the second part of "Peel the Paint" has excessive difficulties in being digested melodically.
Mountain Climbing!
Voto:
Well. The Mountain weren't just heavy blues. The West's quota covered that genre. Then there was the other 50% of the quota, that of Pappalardi, which mirrored London’s psychedelia in an American way, having deeply absorbed it as he was the producer of Cream. And to not mention the masterpiece (written by Jack Bruce, but transformed and made sublime by Mountain on this album), a pure rock ballad that is very little blues, is to mislead the judgment and the vision of this work.

The Beatles Back in the U.S.S.R.

The girl I remember was a certain Stefania. Quite cute but rather insignificant in terms of gaze, charm, interests, and gestures. Not very tall, blonde with a smooth bob, wearing a white jacket with the first two buttons artfully undone to reveal, from the triangle formed by the shirt also artfully unbuttoned, the groove between two generous breasts tightly compressed by her bra: a long, deep, shady groove that one's gaze inevitably fell into.
I found myself with her sitting on my lap, and we exchanged a bit of tongue-in-mouth action, but I wasn't enthusiastic... it ended there, and we didn't do anything else together. I didn't even caress those breasts. I preferred to spend the evening discussing with a jazz drummer who was keen to tell me how little the Supertramp meant to him, which were playing loudly in the room ("Child of Vision," actually quite boring except for Davies' piano solo).
I don’t understand why, at 21/22, I let slip a ton of opportunities. I was already thinking like an adult, in a ā€œmonogamousā€ style: either I'm really into it, or nothing...
However, I made up for it a few years later, when I was a bit more experienced and confident, with a certain Manuela. I couldn’t care less about her... I was madly in love with a girl who had given it to me once one night and then went back to her hometown and her boyfriend (whom she didn’t end up marrying). Two magnificent breasts, absolutely mandatory to dim the lights to see them move... guaranteed erection; in fact, I had to close my eyes to avoid finishing in three minutes.
