Crosby, Stills & Nash Crosby, Stills & Nash

@Nello, Nello... He was a stranger in CSNY. He would come in, lay down a couple of songs, the other three would do something with it but not much, then he would leave again.
The other three would spend nights at one of their places, or at Joni's, or Mama Cass's, fine-tuning the harmonies, dividing up the parts. They passed around women, joints, bottles; they were good friends.
Nello the misanthrope even had the audacity at the time to ask not to be filmed for the Woodstock movie, thus denying himself historical and immortal exposure. The director then chose Judy Blue Eyes, one of the masterpieces of this record, where Nello had no say and thus stayed offstage.
This album is the masterpiece of Crosby, Stills, and Nash with or without Young, fresh as a daisy after 55 years.
The CSNY collective was held together with tape, I repeat, and indeed it came apart easily. The quartet never really clicked, losing coherence, shared intent, and good humor.
Even the very good Deja Vu would have been better if it had another couple of Crosby or Stills numbers instead of the dreadfully tedious Helpless and that other one by Nello.

The reviews of famous albums unleash the trolls, who have a lot to say because there are already seven, nine, ten on the site, etc.
Just ignore it, of course, the important thing is to have personal insights to write about, as you say.
I go through phases... I spend a year without writing, then I get fired up and go hard.
Buck Dharma is one of my heroes... Too bad that in the latest BOC album, the one I want to review, he doesn't do much.

It's difficult to exhaust the material still available for review. The well is virtually bottomless.
Rockets No Ballads

Not classical: it's hard rock'n'roll. A little less than hard rock.

Please smash, take away those idiots with glitter from my reviews on the Rockets, I tried to upload them as a new band, but the portal kept crashing on the French...
Thanks

Nice report. I didn't know yet. Francis Dunnery is wonderful.

Thank you. To everyone. Do you trim the hedge by hand with shears? Otherwise, to feel "Spring," you have to crank up the volume to the point of bleeding your eardrums.

I forgot: the guitars. Eddie taught everyone that you don't need to pay a fortune for a '57 Strat or a '61 Gibson, and who cares about those $40,000 pieces of metal. He would take a guitar body, paint it however the hell he wanted, screw on a Strat neck, throw a pickup near the bridge, just needed a volume knob and off he went, sound like a dream!
